LORI, Welcome to sudokuland. I hope you enjoy your time here as much as I enjoy visiting here. There is a lot to do other than work sukoku and jigsaw puzzles. Sorry the jigsaw puzzles are broken, our leader is on vacation, and in his absence, we broke the site

Look around, make your self at home and go visiting other members pages, lots of fun! I hope you will tell us about your little corner of the world.

Gday Lori and , from an expat Sth Aus now living east of the border. We moved over here 10 years ago for hubby's work but I try to get back as often as possible because my Mum still lives there.
I've brought you some page-warming goddies. A bottle of bubbly, a plate of nibblies and an invitation to drop in to my page anytime. BTW Don't worry to much about the lack of deckies for the mo, we were all novices when we arrived!

lol Lori, that's why I mentioned that I was from SA, I thought we're probably related! I was actually born in Woomera but we moved to Adelaide when I was 6. Mum lives in Fulham Gardens and my brother lives in Modbury. Before we moved, we lived in Mylor. Do you know it? Its a small town in the hills next to Aldgate. That's why we have ended up here, very similar. Before that we were in the burbs in Newport.

Go girl! it will become easier the more you do.I am a self taught novice. So If I can do it anyone can but I don't use smilies. Some times my words run into each other or I add an extra letter or forget my capital letters after a fullstop. I think i'm forgiven??. Cheers.

Lori, thanks for sharing the photos, I enjoyed viewing them and left a comment or 2 on the photos. I notice in the schol photos, the children are in uniforms, but different uniforms for your class, with brown skirts/trousers, and another group playing ball had dark red skirts/trousers. Is there a reason??

Lori - the recipe for the Strawberry Cream Cheese Pie is on page 2 of the recipe fourm. As spring is comming for you - in a few months fresh strawberries should be available in Australia.

My mother is a travel agent (now 85 and still working & travling). 8 years ago, she asked me if I would like to go on a Safari, she had a deal. I told her it was not the top of my list (6 months earlier I had taken my dream vacation to NZ). When she said she would pay for the trip, I definetly took an interest. Well the orignial deal fell through and another came up to Kenya and we went. It was thoroughly enjoyable.

I would love to go back to the So. Island of NZ and over to Australia. Another place I would love to see before I die is the Rome & the Vatican (I'm not Catholic). A couple of other places I have wanted to see are Nova Scotia (since a child) and the Dalmation Coast.

My mom has been to nearly 150 countries. I'm nowhere near her. But have vicariously shared in her travels.

No worries at all mate. I loved looking through your pics, they left quite an impression so I recognised it straight away but I was too tired last night to put a name to the photographer! Sorry about that.
I giggled when I read your follow-up comment re the AFL. Your sad secret is safe with me. I'm a little torn in two about the final-Power because of the state association and Geelong for exactly the reason you said. They are NOT a Melbourne team! We're Crows fans so in reality, I don't give a hoot. Hope your son has a blast. Will hubby have access to the game at all?

Hi Lori. Saw your comments just now on sudoku. I started off on this site on the jigsaw side through my sister (Maureen/Dubbo) & have seen a lot of your pictures in the archives there. Great photos & I really enjoyed doing them as jigsaws. Thanks very much!

Nice avatar Lori. Well done. Isn't Gath, our esteemed leader, wongerful! I'm not the person to ask about avatars. MizT provided me with all three of mine, just things she thought would be appropriate for me. She walked me through the whole process because I'm a complete pooter ninny! Ask her on her page, I'm sure she would be only too happy to help.

Hello Lori, thanks for visiting my page and your compliments about my photos and the scenery around our area. I think we live in a beautiful part of the world, and there are beautiful places everywhere in the world just waiting for us to see them.
I called in while I was at work the other day and had a quick browse of your photos but didn't manage to leave a comment. You have some lovely photos in Flickr and I've noticed a few of your photos on the site lately. Well done!

Sometimes I don't feel like hanging around. Every now and then, something will happen that changes the mood a little. Give me a couple of days and I'll be back to my rambunctious self! You can't keep a good Adelaidian down for long.
Thank you,
Gail

Hi, Lori! Thanks for the tips. Unfortunately, I WAS using the numeric keypad but with zero results! I can get all the punctuation (accents, tildes, etc.) using the alt + number code, but I can't get hearts or all the other FUN stuff!!! By the way, welcome to Sudukoland!!!

Lori - thanks for the visit! I did a little searching, and did find one place that said golden syrup could be used as a substitute for corn syrup. Also, the dark corn syrup has basically had a little molasses added to it.
Many pecan pie recipes vary in the use of dark/light corn syrup.
If you give it a try, let me know how the pies turn out.
From your info at the top of your page, Indonesia is one place that I hope to be able to visit one day - it looks very inviting.

Hi Lori! I was perusing the recipe pages and noticed you had requested a recipe for Clam Chowder. I posted one for you. It's pretty versatile. You can adjust (add, subtract) seasonings, etc. to suit your taste.

Lori - Have a GREAT last week of school, and then enjoy the long break. I am looking forward to our short Christmas break (we get 9 days off this year). This has been the most stressful, intense semester of my career I think. We have two more weeks.
I will bake some pecan pies for our gatherings, and I hope they come out okay - it would be a shame to let my grandmother down!
Hope your family has a wonderful time, and I hope the new recipes turn out well.
