The men have all gone for the morning. I will find out where I can find a pharmacy and see if I can get something to support my knee. OK at the moment but not sure how it will be if I walk very far. Ken suggested I get a taxi to the zoo as something to do for the day.
Theresa thinking of you and your daughter. Hope her Op goes well and your results help you sort out your problems.

I wish I could suggest something to help you, June. Having knee pain while traveling sounds horrendous. You might want to ice pack it whenever you can.

I put heat on it yesterday Heidi as that seems to help. Will now go and see what I can do and then how to spend my day. I finished reading the book I had.

Greetings and Salutations, Friends!

Groan! I had a fairly long comment - then went to Heidi's page to look at her picture of Angel. Of course, when I came back to this page, my comments were gone. But, oh, what a cutie Angel is!

Rolanda, how wonderful that you have internet and are able to communicate once again! It looks like I missed you by a mere 6 minutes. Thinking positive thoughts for your Mum! Do you think she will finally realize that she needs to consider assisted living? Did your email password change by itself? I hope Peter can get it worked out so you can read your email!''

June, you have definitely found some bargains! The foot massage sounds wonderful. Now, if only your knee would feel better. Pace yourself and allow a rest or nap as needed!

MizT, I hope you were able to get back to sleep and get some much-needed rest! Sending {{{HUGS}}} for you and Al! I hope he can find a way to regain at least a bit of the weight he is losing!

Suzy, have you or your hubby ever discussed the possibility with school personnel? Didn't you say Dana had undiagnosed dyslexia? It's too bad a diagnosis wasn't made when they were younger so that help could be provided. Theresa,
Cyn, to you your life may sound dull and boring. To us, it's exciting and different from our own hum-drum existence (speaking for myself here, of course). Hair one day, eyes the next, air con repair and dog clipping all seem to be ways to keep busy and get things accomplished. Thinking of you as your Mum's birthday approaches! {{{HUGS}}} I'm sure both of your parents would have approved of the location!

Viv, I hope Ethan will be able to keep his job, if for no other reason that it will get him out of the house. Good luck with your Avon orders!

Tami, I'm glad the tornado stayed far enough away from you. I guess it makes sense that all of the rain you got would flood the fields and delay both boys' baseball games!

Happy Anniversary, June, and so glad to hear that your knee has improved! Congratulations to your son & his baseball team for winning the Australian Masters Championship.

Heidi, I'm so sorry to hear that you are again feeling under the weather! I hope that sore throat goes away quickly!

Theresa, I hope all of the X-Rays provide the information necessary for the doctor to develop a plan of relief for you! Positive thoughts and prayers for your D's surgery to go well and be completely successful tomorrow! May her recovery go as quickly as anticipated!

Theresa, I hope your D's friends can find some help and encouragement as they deal with their S and his difficulties with communication and social relationships. Those can certainly be indicators of autism, as well as difficulty in school in spite of a high IQ, I hope the parents can get the help they need for their son!

Heidi, I hope all of the budgies recover from their injuries!

Brenda, thanks for also mentioning the importance of maintaining a routine for children with autism.

Wouldn't you know, I went over the space limit. Here's the rest:

Heidi, you had an extremely productive morning! So glad to hear that Angel will have puppies!

Well, I've caught up to where I was when I looked at Angel's photo. Since I can barely keep my eyes open, I'm going to call it a night! Positive thoughts, , prayers, and {{{{{HUGS||||| for all! Good Night!

(I'll try to get back tomorrow during the day to finish reading page 246, then on to page 247. I'll see you all then. At least we don't have a 3.5 hour meeting tomorrow night - just about 2 hours at the acupuncturist.)

Have had a quiet day today. Walked to a pharmacy but could only get a crepe bandage. It should give some support. Bought a coulpe lacquar ware small dishes and another shirt. Have feeling I have got wrong sizes so will go back and change them tomorrow. We are only about a 10 minute walk from the markets' Had lunch at the hotel. Thai beef salad and fresh mango juice. Rest of the time I have rested up with TV and a book of sudoku puzzles. This computer is too small to do the puzzles and jigsaws. I need a bigger screen.
Waiting for my son to Email me with shirt measurements. I am sure the ones I bought are way too big.
Yes Heidi, the hot and cold does work but a bit hard when away from home. No frozen peas in the fridge!

Nope. I've been overdoing it the last 2 days, and the Lurgy is back in force. Sore throat, fever, nausea and body aches. That must mean that IH is due to walk in the door any minute.

Hi all.
Oh Heidi..sorry to hear that you are sick again. I bet you are excited about puppies on the farm once more. That is amazing that the birds stick to their original breeding seasons.
June..hope you found relief for your knee somehow.Being in pain could easily ruin your holiday plans. The DVD's are a real bargain if they work.I saw Rio last weekend and it was quite good.
Theresa...thinking of you, and hoping all goes extremely well with your daughter op.
Julie..how can you not have a play on the cello? I would have to. hehe You are very sensible though in not wanting to start bad habits.
Tami..that 1st coffee tastes soo good.Thanks.It is a scarey thought when your kids start to drive alone..you will have a little reprieve if he continues lying to you.
Cyn...thinking of you as your Mums birthday nears and you leave her ashes with Dads.

MizT...you are a busy bee in the kitchen lately with apple sauce etc. I have never tried okra.I hope you are managing to get enough sleep to enable you to cope with Al.
Broni..enjoy the wedding tomorrow.
Have a great day everyone.

Also Ethan had the meeting yesterday with his employers to tell them about the loss of licence.
He works for our Hastings Council here in Parks and Gardens.
He is on a two year traineeship.
I knew this was a cushy job but this just reaffirms it.
They said to him, no probs, you are going really great with your traineeship so we will not be putting you off.
They also said if you cannot get to work you can defer the training for a year.!!!
Heavens I said to him I hope you realise how lucky you are.

He gets a rostered day off on a Monday once a fortnight.
He has worked them all nearly so far and then he racks up those days and goes on holidays etc.
He left this morning for 3 days to go to a concert in Newcastle.
Friends picked him up at 7am.
This boy just lands on his feet.

So much for 4 days in Vietnam and I have not had any real Vietnamese food which I really like. Leave for Cambodia tonight. We are 4 hours behind the time on sudoku. I have not taken many photos here as I have many from before and also have not been anywhere much except for shopping.

Morning all - am off to my eye appointment this morning (yes, I got the day wrong, luckily I realised yesterday before I got ready to leave.)
Viv - some things have a positive side to them and if your son's employers are happy with his work he must have a great work ethic so it's not all bad.
Theresa - good healing thoughts to your Daughter. Hope her recovery is swift and the op successful.
MizT &Al - always in my thoughts.
June - I hope you get some relief for your knee and soon.

Greetings friends. Still have the flare of fibro, so I am either hurting before meds or sleepy after. I had another long nap today. I guess that is good, since I seem to have trouble sleeping at night.

Al is about the same, still not getting his 3 feedings a day, not getting enough fluids, but I cannot force feed him.

Theresa, wishing a speedy recovery to your daughter. How are your shoulders doing now?

June, hope your knee is soon functioning 100%.

CynB, your speaking of your eye appointment reminds me, 1, I need to pick up my new glasses,a and 2, I should send off the forms for reimbursement from my insurance. thanks for the reminder

Viv, congrats on the huge Avon order, good work girl!

Heidi, hope the throat and rest of the Lurgy is soon better.

Nola, good to see you post, but you are doing a Julie? Not a word about what you are doing now.

Same for Tami today too, nothing about you.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

Well, I need new glasses, my eyesight has deteriorated but no more than expected. Otherwise my eyes are healthy with no sign of Macular Degeneration, Glaucoma or Cataracts - so I'm happy about that. My new glasses are pink/purple, my granddaughters will be impressed, get them in about 10 days. But the best news of all is that my health fund (Medibank Private for the Aussies) paid for the lot - did not have to pay 1c. Woo Hoo!!

Lots of good news in that post Cynthia. Last time I got two pair of glasses. One to read and one for the computer. Different focal lenghts.
Had anoth3er morning at the markets. Bought two hand bags,a Burberry and a Coach (American brand I did not know for $35 each. Will post a photo after I get home. A few other bits and pieces so all my 'dong' are now gone(plus some Aussie and US dollars). I ill now have to watch the weight of the luggage. Started with 13K but some of the flights in Cambodia only allow 20k. A few heavier things can go in my hand luggage. There are more markets in Cambodi but we will only have one visit and Ken will be with me. Tends to put me off shopping!
MizT, thinking of you and Al. A very difficult time but you can only do as they want. You take care with all your aches and pains as well.
Theresa, hope your daughter has now had her OP and is well on the way to recovery.
Broni, enjoy the wedding tomorrow.

Wow, June - watching the sunrise over Angkor Wat - wow again!!
My glasses have graduated lens for all possible occasions. Basically I put them on when I get up in the morning and take them off when I go to bed at night. Very annoying for someone who got well into her forties before needing glasses at all. I blame computers!

This week has been a big week here. Yesterday was Beth's 22nd birthday, and hubby and I met up with her and Chloe for lunch...our shout of course! I think all the kids will be here on Sunday night for a celebration. Next Sunday they will be back to celebrate our son Jed's 27th!
Today was officially Hannan's final day at school, apart from a bit more back and forth, and the exams in a few weeks. So she has finished her schooling, and I have finished being a school mum!

((HUGS)) going out to all who need them. Everyone is in my thoughts as they go through difficult situations.
June your time in Vietnam sounds interesting. You got a Burberry bag for $35 that is a bargain! One of our friends is the senior vice president of HR for Burberry.
Viv that is a fantastic order for Avon, you really must have some good customers. Pleased to hear your son didn't lose his job.
I've been busy knitting again and have just found out that R's step daughter (the one in Australia) would like me to knit some things for the baby she is expecting next year.
Just over two weeks to go until our holiday. Hope the weather improves a bit Tami, but anything will be warmer than we are having at the moment.
Theresa hope your D is on the road to recovery , and that you will be fit and well soon.
Heidi, you will soon need to extend your sunroom if you keep buying and breeding more birds. Are you managing to sell some of your babies?

Tricia, keeping you and Al in my thoughts. Stay strong and come in here for a shoulder to lean on.

June, what bargains you have been getting. A Coach bag starts at over $100, and that is for a small one. I don't know the exact prices as they are out of my budget

Viv, outstanding order. They should only get bigger as the holiday approaches. Hope it is not too much of a strain on your back to order it all.

Sorry I'm too tired to read. This is what I've been up to today. Copied from the other page..

Interesting afternoon today. Forever Archie performed at a folk festival. Wonderful atmosphere and the girls did well. Alie fell in love with a drum thingy, I wrote the name of it down but I'm too tired to bend down to find the book I wrote it in. It costs about $200 so I don't think it will happen this time around. My feet ache, my head aches, and we're back there again tomorrow.

There was a fun band on just before we left tonight, The Piggies. Very funny - they sang Kenny Loggins, the Gambler, only it didn't sound anything like the original. Ditto for All the Single Ladies and a couple of others.

When the girls were performing tonight I saw a man videoing them and was a little bothered by it since the girls are 14 and 15 years old. Turns out he's from a magazine and had taken a photo of them earlier too. Shame I have no idea how to get copies of that particular magazine!

Hi All...sending a shout out to all with thoughts and prayers, hugs and best wishes trailing behind the greeting.
Nothing much of interest going on at the moment... weather continues to show its autumnal trends and my heat is now on for the season. Looking forward to a vist from #1 DIL and her family soon...that will be fun...its been too long.
June, you got some fantastic buys on this holiday trip...Congratulations.
Julie, Happy that you are able to contain yourself with the new cello so as to prevent bad habits forming...don't know if I could be so restrained...Enjoy the experience.
Heidi...hope you feel better soon, as we all know, your plate is so full that its hard for you to really do just a little, but I hope you get some rest for that back. Have the Grasshoppers been able to start their visit or is the strike still interfering? Wondering if I'd missed the news.
Additional thoughts and prayers sent for Theresa and family and Mit T and family... but remember, both of you, as you care so lovingly for others....do the same for yourselves! Peace.♥♥

Greetings friends. I am waiting for a call back from Al's doc office. I have phoned them asking if they can order him oxygen. He has been getting out of breath when up doing things, a bath, changing jammies, but today he got out of breath just putting his pain meds into his stomach tube. Time to call and ask. Now if we can just work out the logistics of getting it ordered and delivered here. I see no reason they would not order it for him.

Was going out to lunch with Miss A today, but she phoned to postpone till Monday, she picked up a cold bug somewhere. I cannot be around her till it is gone, and she is not contagious. Not gonna bring something like that home to Al.

I think we had a bit of frost last night. I had covered my big coleus plant, (it survived) and brought in my 2 Christmas cactus and helicopter plant. They sit in the floor by the slider at the moment, trying to decide if it is worth it to put them back out. there might be a few more frost free nights, but I might miss getting them in. Probably just hang them in front of window in bedroom, their winter home. I must look up care of the cactus again, it might be time to put them in the dark for a while so they will bloom at Christmas. I always forget when.

Theresa, hope the daughter is continuing to recover nicely. Hugs to you and her family.

Gail, the back into the yard part sounds good, I enjoyed yard work back when I could do it. Painting I was not too fond of though. But having the house fresh and clean will be good, and enjoyable once finished.

Tami, I do come here for strength and to vent, noone else to listen to me, you guys get it all, poor dears.

June I know you got a great bargain on the Coach bag, hope you enjoy it. Can you send any of your heavy things home via mail? An Aussie friend of mine, who went on a 16 week around the world trip sent LOTS of packages home via mail or UPS.

Time to think about lunch, I had nothing planned since i thought I would eat out. I am sure there is somedthing in the pantry, just have to look.

Hugs to each of you, with extras. Till later.

MizT - {{HUGS}}

In a fair bit of shoulder pain today, so I have been avoiding the computer.

Hubby and I will go see D tomorrow. I haven't heard anything after yesterday's news that she had left recovery and gone to a room.

My last aunt on my mother's side passed away yesterday in Holland at the age of 87. RIP Tante Dora. There might be aunts on my father's side - I don't know - we've never kept in touch with that side of the family. You can pick your friends, but not your family.

My FIL turns 88 tomorrow.

Gotta run - it's time to pick up the grandies.

I haven't heard a word from the Grass-hoppers. I don't even know if they'll be able to make it here this year. I'm thinking of contacting them and offering to store the camper they already bought here, and they can pick it up whenever they make it back to the States.

I have done NOTHING today. My back is killing me. It feels almost freshly broken. The pain meds are allowing me to keep my sanity, but that's all.
