MizT.... I can sympathize. My toilet broke a several days ago, and my plumber is out of town until after Christmas.

Don & Barb won't be here for Christmas dinner after all. Barb has a bad case of the 'flu and isn't up to it. Don doesn't want to leave her alone. So I'm switching the menu from a whole leg of lamb to a rack of lamb instead. The rest of the meal will consist of twice baked potatoes, whole green beans (Gil's favorite food), cranberry relish and strawberry parfaits for dessert, made with home grown strawberries.

Morning all and Merry Christmas!

Santa spoiled us all rotten again this Christmas, he's really very naughty doing that when there are so many who have so little! I didn't tell you that Dana had bought a rocker for the family I was telling you about - it was their only big present this year. I think they got one for Tahli too (this happened months ago and they did it for each other) Anyway the kids are apparently loving it!

Tahli in particular is overwhelmed by her masses of wonderful presents. She doesn't know which way to turn... I will post a photo later so you can see what it's like in my lounge room right now.

Alie is over the moon. She finally got an iPod touch. Yes, my musical daughter has never had one! She also got massive keyboard from her sister. She got a bunch of other cool stuff too but isn't really interested in any of it right now.

Hubby got a TV for his office - which he has been using for at least a month and a couple of 32 gig thumb drives. It's hard to imagine that our first computer had a 40Mb hard drive!

Dana got a bunch of useful stuff like TV tables and a hair dryer, but most importantly a whole bunch of herbs to plant on her balcony and all the bits to go with having a garden.

Three got shirts and an iTunes card.

Hubby gave me a beautiful gold chain and a mini eReader! I'll definitely have to replace my glasses now... Oh and an orange tree!

We all got a bunch of lollies and chocolates.

I allowed myself a couple of minutes of getting all teary and then pulled myself together and ate chocolate!

Nola, I am glad you are having a good day. It's cool and overcast here. I'm not complaining though because it is better than melting and we really need the rain.

Heidi, bummer about Don and Barb. Maybe they can come over when they feel better in a week or so. Though it might actually be 2 weeks because Don will probably get it after Barb.

Cyn, you are as spoiled as I am!

MizT, how inconvenient! Bad timing!

I'm over the page and have forgotten what else I wanted to say. I'll try to help find the power cord that appears to be missing from Alie's new keyboard and come back.

Tami, your minivan is just not satisfied at the moment. No matter how much you give it, it just wants more!

Gail, except for the missing one, a perfect day! And I love your extra seat...

Cyn, as hard as that was, it was a wonderful grandmotherly thing to do!

MizT, wishing you safe driving! That sounds like it will be horrible. Worth it when you get to the other end, but I wouldn't blame you if you decided it was too risky!

Broni, I love the music thing! Still getting Christmas presents I see...

Nola, I see you are working on Xmas day. At least you got the morning at home with your family and maybe you will get a chance to cheer up someone who is missing theirs...

Hoping the people who haven't posted yet are off having a wonderful time! I have a few minutes because hubby is the cook...

I'm off to bed early. That way Santa has plenty of time to show up, if he is going to. Actually, I'm tired, and since I promised IH that I'll get up early and make a nice Christmas breakfast (home grown eggs, bacon and raspberry danish) I need to get to sleep early.

Reading your post Suzy I remembered your mother and Rolanda's mother ♥ They were sitting at the table too, and they were all having one heck of a good time ♥
I feel for you both, that first Christmas was hard, and I did the same thing as you Suzy, gave myself some reflection time, then got on with the job xoxo

Evening all. Hope you have had an enjoyable day with your families. It is now pouring rain here but was nice enough at lunchtime to be at the beach and have cold chicken and salad for lunch.

Had an enjoyable day, and despite the efforts of the psycho, got to be with the girls for about 3 hours. Ate too much then we came home and slept for a few hours (nanna naps).
Speaking of people who were absent, even though this is our second Christmas without Mum, Karin and I shed a little tear, when talking about our family Christmas traditions passed down from my Mum and, before her, my Granny.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays. Just waiting for everyone to get up ....

We had our traditional Christmas Eve dinner at D's place last night (chicken a la king), then I came home to finish wrapping the presents and sonIL came with me to assemble a 'santa' gift, a dollhouse for the youngest grandie. It took him over 2 hours.

When everyone is awake we will go to D's and I will make breakfast, scrambled eggs and sausage rounds on English muffins.

Very sleepy, but dropped in to tell you I had a wonderful day. Went to my bros tonight and I delivered Christmas stockings, because my mum did that every year, and also took coloured popcorn, because we had that every year growing up...

Coffee is ready, help yourself. I have a 30 cup coffee urn so I made a really big pot for all my Sudokuland friends. I figured it is the least I can do as I know you are all busy.

Had a pleasant Christmas morning. I mad a nice breakfast... home grown eggs, scrambled, with bacon and raspberry danish. IH gave me a couple of frying pans and a nice toaster that can hold bagels. I gave him a pair of slippers, a couple of warm winter hats, a lighted magnifying glass (which he really needed) and a gorgeous stainless, tartan and leather hip flask. The dogs got a lot of rawhide chews and a 10 lb jar of flavored dog biscuits.

Merry Christmas All. Santa has come and treated us all very well...I got music, a foot bath sweet soaps and bath salts, and a pillow holder for my e-reader so I can read hands free at the proper level in bed...Jazz got a stuffed squeety toy and dog biscuits. Angelique got a couple of dolls, Lego building stuf, books f and lots of clothes and p.j's...all good stuff and Reina got money and she and Angelique are now putting together a very large gingerbread house...this on top of cookies ,cake and far too much fattening stuff...so all is well here. A quiet day at home since I am still stuffy and didn't want to infect others with whatever I have...life is good.
Peace in my nice warm home with all that is needed...seems as if we all have set an extra place setting for missing loved ones in our hearts and have been rewarded by knowing the Dove of Peace is over seeing a grand affair for all...May happiness and contentment remain in our hearts and homes for some time.t

Happy boxing day! It hope everyone has (had) a wonderful Christmas Day. We had a lovely day with 9 of us at lunch. One of Shaun's friends joined us, as well as MIL, my brother, niece and her fiancé.
We finally got the Christmas tree decorated on Christmas Eve and the outside lights went up on the verandah railings. Better late than never!
Today it's raining but Christmas was hot and sunny. Like Cyn, we had a nanna nap after lunch. I think today will be a lazy day.
I forgot to tell you - I got a Murrano glass necklace and earrings for Christmas. There were lots of vouchers and scratches given (along with the usual boxes of chocolates). It's back to the diet today - no more lollies or chocies for me.

Wishing all the topsiders a Merry Christmas
Rainly and cool day here. Well my quiet day turned into quite and event. Friend came over in the morning and stayed for lunch, she is going through a rough patch but think I brightened her day. Then Teresa's brother came over stayed for dinner and we played cards for a few hours with cousin quietly sleeping on a lounge chair, he ended up crashing in the spare bed for the night.
Bella and I have most of the day to ourselves today.

Evening friends, I am home safely. Yes Suzy, we did go to BIL's house. the forecast of when storms would start was delayed till 4 or after. It is now 5 pm and they are coming at us, but here in my area for now it is severe thunderstorm warnings, not tornadoes. South of us, near the coast, there are now about 7 active tornado warnings. I do hope none of those are on the ground. It is going to be a busy night.

I am so glad for a nice safe building. If we get a warning of one coming at us, I have a bathroom that is interior, on the lowest floor (parking area under me) and two walls between me and the outdoors. I could go to the hall, that would put 3 walls between, and I have rolling chairs, depends on the history, how severe the tornadoes are from this system have been.

I am glad we got home fore the storms. We did have light rain going home. We ddrove out ahead of that rain, but with lots of fog. Joy was driving, I did not have to contend with driving in the rain.

We had a nice time. Two tables groaned under all the food. We got to visit with Scooter Kitty, she was so glad to see us, snuggled in our arms, purred and purred, put her 'arms' up around my neck in a good kitty hug! She even braved the dogs and house full of people to come over the baby gate (keeps the dogs out of her area, giving her a 'safe place') to get to us, when she heard us talking in the kitchen. Sweet kitty.

I am going to check out the forecast on TV, hugs to each of you, seems like you all had great Christmases.

Broni, no need to hide this time, storms have passed. I really never expect to have to, but yes, if a tornado heads toward us will let Joy know. FYI I will be either in my bathroom or in the main hall outside my apartment, away from the door, actually behind my bathroom. . We are just instructed to have a plan, and that is mine hope I never have to use it.

I fell asleep in my recliner, slept over 3 hours. Now to see if I can resume that sleep in my bed.

Hugs to each of you, with extras.

Warning VENT:

I have just had strips ripped off me by Alie's boyfriend's mother because since he started dating Alie he has been staying out late and I am a horrible parent etc etc etc and the sooner they break up the better! Then she ripped strips off Alie and told her what a horrible person she was!!

Apart from not calling when they should they have never done a thing wrong. He's a good kid and she's acting like the minute he's out of her sight he's getting drunk or getting Alie pregnant or something!

OMG, Suzy! She's a psycho! How dare she criticize you and Alie!!!
Just tell her if she had instilled the right values in her son in the first place, she wouldn't have to worry about his behavior when out of her sight.

The weather here is nasty. Cold (just barely above freezing) and rainy. It's supposed to segue into the frozen stuff later today. I hate icy roads.
