Hello All,
Heidi...strange visual of you playing with the strings in your mouth keep running through my head like the Christmas Carols...lol.
Sounds as if Santa has been very busy everywhere...May it be a good outpouring of love and sharing of good memories for all.
eea....Happy belated birthday greetings...hope it was a spectacular day.
Must get ready to get my meds from the store but am really lazy right now...but need to make haste while I have the car...It will get done...just as those of you with things still waiting on your to do list...meanwhile, I'll enjoy this feeling I now have of peace and contentment and wish the same for all.

Instead of putzing around on the 'pooter, I need to get dressed and do some work outside. A large tree fell and took out ~60 feet of wooden fence. I'm gonna have to try to figure out a way to patch it temporarily.... and do it strongly enough to hold the bull on one side and the cows on the other.

Gekko my friends.
I have been reading but cannot think of anything to say, besides you say it so much better than me.
Christmas was last weekend for me, had BIL, kids and grandkids over.
The only things that have been happening is I went to the dentist Saturday, clean and fix two teeth that broke. Had to take one of cousins budgies to vet and ending up having him put down.
Work today, hope it is not too hot again.
Luv and hugs to you all.

I have been through some tough times these last few years, and some wonderful times, more wonderful than tough I think. Through it all I knew that no matter what else was happening in my life all of you were here to listen, share my happiness, think of me when I was ill or sad, and basically be wonderful friends!! I appreciate you all so much!

Wishing you a wonderful holiday season, and then the best year of your lives in 2013. (13 is a lucky number!)

Daily anecdote: Last night was the last Carols of the year for Alie. There's a photo of her on tos. She was amazing again. She was on after 2 women who perform for a living. Her music messed up and she had to ad lib for a while and she commented on what a hard act to follow these women were. Then she sang and was wonderful! Held her own in spite of the daunting position in the evening! I was so proud.

Broni, sorry about your cousins Budgie. They say with birds that they are so hardy that by the time you know they're sick it's too late. We caught Tip Tap in time the first time, but not the second.

Heidi, Gil may not have installed the CD player, but did he buy it for you and surprise you too? That is a huge thing for him.

June, if I find a room cold I put an extra blanket on. I think Ken is being mean considering you can't sleep when you are too hot. I hope you got some more sleep after you posted!

Yes, I would have been mad at Gil if he got too cheap to have the CD player installed correctly. Right now, he's on my good side.

I didn't get that fence worked on. It's a 2 to 3 person job (with tractor) and I was alone today. IH and his cousin Don will help tomorrow. It's an interior fence, so no animals can escape the property, but it does separate animals that really should be separated. The bull has gone through the opening and gotten back in with the cows. He wasn't supposed to do that until May.

I had a great time at the pageant. The kids were really wonderful. I sat with Anita on one side (both her youngest daughter and her grandson were in the play) and my friend Cathy (her granddaughter and a grandson were in the play) and really enjoyed getting to applaud all of their young 'uns.

Hi everyone. It is a madhouse trying to find a park in Port Macquarie today. At least I have my disabled parking sticker and I was lucky to find one close to FIG. Having a quiet christmas here so at least I do not need to do a last minute mad shop for gifts.
Enjoy your day everyone.

Tami, we'll take whatever we can get from you! I miss you, but I understand so won't give you a hard time about it...

Heidi, there is something magical about young ones performing. It's wonderful! Even more so if you know the kids, but even if you don't!

I've just been on my last minute gifts run. We're giving Dana herbs for her balcony planting area and I didn't want to get them early, then, while I was out, Alie finally worked out what she wanted to get her bf so I came home and picked her up and we had to go to town to get that! And hubby had managed to go through all of his coke so I had to get more of that too!

Three is a real grinch, but so was hubby when I met him (both have horrible memories of Xmas growing up) so we hope to turn him around...

Almost 36C, a bit windy, and a fire starts on a neighbour's property! Luckily I didn't know about it until after the firies had arrived! It looks like an old caravan caught fire...

Life is just so hectic leading up to Christmas -

Merry Christmas to those of you who celebrate and Seasons Greetings/Happy Holidays to those who don't.
For those of you facing a sad 'first' this Christmas, enjoy it knowing that person would want you to and is with you all in spirit.
Hugs and love to you all!

Suzy, how scary about the fire. At this moment our temperature, with the wind chill, is -16C ... if only our temps (yours and mine) could meet in the middle.

June, my hubby does not like AC, so I spend most summers sleeping downstairs. I don't know how he can stand the humidity. Fortunately at this time of year heat and humidity is not a concern!!!

I bought my minivan a present today. A new tire. I had to run a few errands today and came around a corner a little too sharp. I ran up on the curb and shredded my tire. Had to call the tow truck to change it to the donut for me. I know how to change a flat, I just don't know how to get the donut from under the van. Will pick up van, with new tire on it in about an hour.

At a respectable time, I will visit my neighbor to wish her and her huge family, a Merry Christmas. Approximately 20 are there for the day which is lovely for her. She also has cancer so this is a special time for them all, not knowing what will eventuate.
Then I will visit Renae before starting work at 1pm.
I also hope to see Paul and the boys there, before they head off to another gathering.

I am going to a friend's house tomorrow. She is having a Christmas open house. I just baked a chocolate Kahlua bundt cake. Tomorrow I will brush it with more Kahlua and maybe a chocolate glaze. It is for adults only. I may make some brownies for the kiddies.

Greetings friends. from a too warm for christmas Eve Alabama. Guess what Weatherman Santa has planned for a Christmas surprise? SEVERE WEATHER, thunderstorms with possible strong tornadoes, yuck! At the moment they say they should start around 2 pm Christmas Day. Joy and I are supposed to be in Ashville, Alabama, about an hour and a half drive from here, at BIL's house. He lives in a double wide mobile home, really nice home, but NOT where you want to be with tornado warnings and watches. NO place close we could evacuate to that is safer, and it being Christmas Day, totally no place even at a distance that is safe would be open. What to do? Take a chance and go, just return home early afternoon? Lunch is at 1 pm. the weather statement says the threat extends till 2 am. Joy and I will decide tonight I suppose.

The other christmas unwanted gift I have received, a stopped drain at my kitchen sink. No maintenance man here over holiday, will be Wednesday. I am cooking today, making a lot of dirty dishes. I have taken the normal smaller dishes to the bathroom sink, but big cooking things will not fit. I might have to wash them in my dishpan, put where I drain dishes with soap on them, empty the dish pan of soapy water in bathroom, then rinse in the pan, and again empty. AAAAGGGGGH, what a lot of work. And still more coking to go.

What are you cooking, Tricia, you ask? So far, 2 dozen pumpkin muffins, cornbread for dressing, and boiled the bony parts of the turkey to make broth for said dressing. tired, running out of energy, and still the onions and celery to chop, the dressing to mix and bake. Vegetables for our meal tonight will be leftovers from the meal at my sister's, broccoli and cheese sauce, black eyed peas, salad.

I have read page 568, thought of each of you, but no time to reply today. Back to the kitchen for me, and deal with the no sink in kitchen.

Hugs to each of you, with extras, till later.

MERRY CHRISTMAS, or a very happy Dec 25 to you!

Quick call-in before we leave for Karin's.
Broni - the fact that your neighbours were playing music that was special to you and JD means he wanted you to know he was near.
Nola - big hugs, enjoy the time with your family before work.
Tami - same thing happened to my son 2 days ago, his tyre was shredded!

Actually, I don't think I mentioned today's plans for us...very quiet affair at home with just hubby and I and two of the girls. Son and his gf are at her Aunty's for lunch, they will come later, and if the buses are running, Hannah's bf will come up later. Chloe and her fiance will be spending their first Christmas in Darwin though I know she wishes she could be with us.

Santa has been - I got a new watch and a good solid silver neckchain. Both from hubby.
We leave in an hour or so for Karin's. The ex did not relent about the kids, but we have worked around it to some degree and will all get a few hours together with them. I did her a favour by persuading Emily to go to her Mum's, even though she wanted to be with us. I told her she needs to be with her sisters at Christmas.
