Good Afternoon to one and all...Suzie, You have brought fear to the boyfriend's mom...she now see's the writing on the wall...her son is growing up and other females occupy his world and she is jealous...disregard he comments and if she makes another attempt to vent, smile and tell her life moves forward.. and she has a son to be proud of...she has done a great job in raising him because our jobs as parents is to teach our young to grow away and seek a life of their own choosing. Peace.

How did you get so wise, Mama? Your analysis of the situation is the only sensible explanation of her unmitigated outburst.

The rain, freezing rain and sleet has now turned to snow. Snow with a layer of ice underneath. I refuse to get in my truck and drive anywhere.

IH, on the other hand, has no sense. He hooked up a livestock trailer, loaded up a bunch of goats, and took off to the plant. The normally 2 hour drive has not only been lengthened by treacherous roads, but he's had 2 (TWO) blowouts in the first 30 miles. He had to call for road service after the first one, and they patched the spare long enough to get him to the nearest tire dealership, where the spare blew. So he had to stop and buy 2 new tires!!!! I think somebody up there is telling him that he should have stayed home.

Good morning everyone. It was lovely to see Judy make an appearance yesterday. Thanks Rob for all your updates.
I'm about to go out with hubby so I thought I'd call in here first.
We went to the Boxing Day sales and bought some new sheets with one of my Christmas voiuchers.
Have a good day!

Too long Gail because in the back of my mind was always the thought 'Alie likes this guy more than she's liked anyone else and I'm not going to stuff it up for her'... Hubby picked her up and had a long talk to the woman. She didn't use the words 'bad parent' by the way, but there was no mistaking that's exactly what she meant. I wish I had thought of all the retorts I thought of afterwards while I was still speaking to her!! Basically the problem is that bf got his Ps at about the same time as he started seeing Alie and he's out visiting friends every night (though he only sees Alie every 3 or 4 nights) and she thinks he is here all the time! And according to Alie the thing that I did most wrong is something she does at his house whenever she is there with her obvious permission, which is sit in his room with him????

On a lighter note I'm reading 'eat pray love' on my new mini e-reader which I'm enjoying a lot more since I worked out how to increase the font size so I can read it without my glasses on!

Good morning all!
Suzy, what is it with Mothers and their sons?
I had trouble like that with my SIL's mother when they first started seeing one another. However they were in their 20's, not teenagers. She is a very strict Roman Catholic (we're not RC and K came from a 'broken' family which was a stigma in her eyes) and K&C got engaged 3 months after their first meeting. Add to that, he stayed with her at our house for the 2 months we were overseas, add to that the fact that my silly daughter was so nervous meeting his Mum that she downed a bottle of Passion Pop and promptly fell off a chair. In a lot of ways I understood her concerns but they were both well over 21. And abusing me didn't change anything.
Good news is that it didn't take her long to change her mind about K or us and we are all firm friends now and I don't hold it against her. K&C have been married for 15 years and their kids are wonderful, smart and well-adjusted. Compared to her own daughter's subsequent disastrous relationships and behaviour, K&C are perfect!

IH just called. He's not coming home tonight, or tomorrow night, either. I'm gonna have a relaxing couple of days. At least he promised me that he's gonna give up the plant by mid spring. He's turning 64 in a couple of weeks and he spends so much time driving back and forth to the plant that he gets tired before he can do anything. I've been trying to convince him that he needs to concentrate on his Parasitology business and the farm, for a change.

I need to start organizing my next trip to North Carolina. I'm leaving in 7 days and a few hours. Maxine has that court case on the 4th where Social Services is trying to take her baby away from her. I'm not going to let it happen. I promised her that I'll be with her through the ordeal, and I will be. I've decided to rent a vehicle again, and I need to reserve one with a tow hitch. That's in case I need to rent a U-Haul trailer and bring all of the baby's and Maxine's things back with me to Kentucky. I like to plan in advance for all contingencies.

I have had a lovely Christmas with all the family.
They are at lunch with one of Sam's relatives so a few moments of quiet time for me. I have braved the shops for a bit of shopping. Got some Chrissy cards for next year and some food.
I asked Neil to bring his video camera so I could copy some old tapes (our camera no longer works). Very nostalgic as some of the tapes are 20 years old. Lots with my Mum, her friends that I grew up with and are no longer alive. Also lots with Sharon, Belinda and Neil. I keep wondering who the lady with the dark curly (permed) hair could be?
There have also been a lot of tapes on Baseball. Even some back in the days when Ken was playing!
The family go home on Saturday so I will have time to be on here a bit more.

Surprise, surprise, we are under another winter storm. Hubby has been out shovelling for over 2 hours ... the snow was almost at his knees, lots of drifting, still snowing quite heavily.

Didn't really get a chance to read much. Went to FIL's for supper last night (sisIL had made turkey and the trimmings and we brought some extras). Visited MIL in her new abode. She misses the old place and wanted to be home for Christmas, but we just couldn't do it. She still needs way too much help for even little things, like using the facilities. So even though we had a great Christmas, there were a few sad moments too.

Hubby and I were going to go for a drive this evening to look at the Christmas lights, but people are being asked to stay off the roads if they don't have to go anywhere. Do we 'have' to go look at the lights? Hmmm ........

The plumber is here! The commode in the main bath is still under warranty, so it's being replaced free. It turned out that this model has been having many cases of the same problem, so there was no argument about replacing it.

Hi all.
I had an enjoyable christmas before work, saw all the family and even managed lunch at Renaes.

So lovely to see Judy posting!!!!! Keep getting better every day.

I was thinking of those in the northern hemi with storms, tornadoes and snow. Stay safe.

Suzy,BF mother sounds very scared about him becoming independent. It can be a worry about them getting their license, but if she has instilled in him right and wrong,it is too late to try and change that now. No good, taking it out on you.

June...nice to hear you had a lovely christmas.

Theresa & MizT..take care with the severe weather conditions.

Heidi...I hope all goes well with your trip to help Maxine. Take care on the roads.

Mama...

Gail,Broni, Victoria & Cyn....you all just get on with it dont you. Hugs to you too!

Rolanda..with the extremely high temps in Perth lately, I hope you had air con installed in the new place. I think of you when seeing 40deg Celsius and hope you are OK.

Brenda..

MIA just like I have been.

Work is in lock down with noro virus. 1 third of the residents have it as well as staff. Me included, but I am now on the mend.
My SIL and I, have started clearing out Judys unit by giving family furniture and personal items before giving the rest to charity. Everyone is hesitant in taking things as it just feels so disrespectful and also painful. Sister in-law is the only one motivated into doing what Judy wanted, and the rest of us are finding it difficult. Personally, I am not ready to see her things scattered just yet,but it has to be finalized.
Here I go, pouring more stuff onto you all, but I know it is OK to come and talk here with people who care and understand.
Our dining room table is full of condolence cards and flowers that are past there time and I don't want to through them out. But, today, this is another thing that I must confront.
Greg is most likely to get the noro virus as it is so contagious. Also the girls because, they came to work xmas day and sang xmas carols to the rezzies the day it began.
On a lighter note, Sonny the pup has been making me laugh with his antics. Just what I need.

Hi all... Hope you are having a good day/night... Nothing much going on here so am getting lots of reading done.
Nola, I enjoyed Eat,Pray and Love and hope you do too.
I know what you mean about getting rid of the beautiful condolence cards and things sent when Judy died...I made a photo album as a keepsake and put the many cards, dried flowers. pictures and a program and notes together. It's nice when I want to look back to remember just how kind people were. I have done this now for about five dear ones and will continue to do so as long as I can. Hope you might like this idea as a possible way to remember Judy.♥

Hi all! I'm heading to the beach tomorrow so it's time I got this day underway. First thing is some swearing, then off to visit MIL. I need to pack and also suck up lots of Reggie's hair off the floor. For a short haired dog he sure looses a lot of it. I swear I nearly collect another dog's worth when I sweep the stairs!
It might be just me at the beach this year. Kevin is working next week and so is Shaun (except for New Years Day). I don't know whether James is going to come down - I hope he will as it will be too quiet. My kindle is loaded with lots of books to read and the beach is only 50 metres away for walking and swimming. I may even go shopping.

'copy & paste from Sudoku friends'

Hi folks. MERRY CHRISTMAS.... SEASON'S GREETINGS... etcetera...
Haven't been over and tackled a puzzle for a while so have no idea what is happening there. Most people that I care about post here so have been able to click a few 'likes' on the posts about your festivities. Haven't been able to stay awake long enough to post properly before now.

Thank heavens for spell check... I'm not doing particularly well... obviously not back to functioning on full throttle... definitely a bumbling Bean here!!!

For the record.. not sure that I would recommend having a general anaesthetic the week before Christmas.. IT IS GOOD TO HAVE IT BEHIND ME!!
Was assured i would be back to normal by Christmas Eve... WELL... all I have to say is that 'NORMAL' is over-rated if that is how I was.. despite that I had a wonderful day with my best friend .. She even drove out of her way to pick me up when I got off at the wrong station in Geelong...

By Boxing day I was a little more with it and in less discomfort and able to attack the pots and pans with great enthusiasm.. aided and abetted by a nice drop of chilled white 'something'.. Jai went a bit troppo in the kitchen as well and made her grandfathers secret family recipe for peanut butter roll... OMG... would need an ambulance if you ate much of it!!! Are any of the folk from over the pond in the 'know' as to this little delight? She cracked up when I gave her a bottle of AMERICAN mustard... I usually use french...lol

Enough yabber from me x ♥ x

Good news in Sudokuland!!! Judy will be coming home, and Bean is improving!!!
IH surprised me and came home tonight. He wasn't supposed to return until tomorrow night. So I gave him an assignment. Part of our well collapsed, and the water coming out of the faucets is muddy. I got the name of the guy who re-digs and cleans wells from the plumber, and IH has now been assigned to contact him and schedule him for as soon as possible. This will be fun for him if the visit is next week when I'm gone.
