I'm not as deep south as the Taswegians, who are , after all part of Australia despite the deep waters of Bass Strait. But i don't have the deep south drawl. My mother was a speech training teacher and we had to speak proper Queen's English.

Dino, she isn't really, but she does let the kids do some strange things with her.

Dino, your story of Merlin heartened me to take the plunge again. I saw a nice white female dog on the shelter web site, but when I got there they had already destroyed her. I was bummed out for a couple of days. Now I'm joining up with some folks in Florence who are trying to get the legislature to pass a bill for humane euthanasia in shelters. What happens here is a sin. In fact, if I did to a dog what they do, I could be arrested.

Ruby, that sounds awful. It is bad enough for the dogs, but is also erodes compassion in the minds of whoever does the killing.
