My dd2 is grinning all the time at the moment. My brother, who is arriving in the UK on the 26th with his family, has asked if Em wants to go back to Canada with them for a few weeks. Well her ticket is booked and she is staying for 4 weeks.....ahhhhhhhhh peace for me

She will also be able to attend my niece's wedding.
I just hope she doesn't expect to do all the things we did last year. She will have to remember that her Aunt and Uncle have already taken all their holidays for the year and have to work. She will have the company of two teenage boys, one of whom took a fancy to her last year

The 'fancy' will probably go away when they spend lots of time together.

Hopefully the 'fancy' will go away as Em didn't really 'fancy' him in that way. She spent a few days with them last year and enjoyed his/their company. Trouble is the way they carried on with each other I could see something coming of it.... they were not all 'lovey dovey' but playful bickering... I may have been wrong but they were good together

they don't get too many holiday's in Canada, but my brother and his wife are taking unpaid leave so they can have three weeks here. In the UK we legally have to have 28 days holiday, but that can include all the public holidays of which we have 8 days

I'm trying to remember how old Em is. Is she old enough for the 'something' to be something to worry about?

At present I get 30 days but very rarely take all of them... that's the problem working in a family business. Richard is so busy we have to take time off when we can

We have 20 days plus public holidays, if you have the type of job which requires working on public holidays (hospitality/nursing etc) you usually qualify for extra pay on those days, but not for extra holidays.

Em is 17 (going on 30), but not something I would worry about. I doubt she would go down the same track as the niece who is getting married in August. She is 17 too and has a 4 week old baby.

Perhaps having a niece her age with a baby is a good thing - helps her to see the down side and make her careful!!
