WoW...Just watching the TV and they showed houses falling into the water and floating toward the river in Wisconsin due in part to heavy rains that have been affecting the mid-western states in this country....so much extreme weather this spring... Hello all.... Hope the weather is improving where its been so rainy or dry in your part of this world.
I have resubmitted my chair avatar to Gath for approval....thanks to the helpful suggestions of Miz T and Rena! We sure have some smart, helpful folks here. ladies...you

Good morning, MizT, Brenda and Mamacta,
Also anyone else who drops in.
MizT, Yes the dresses are fitted but we are putting velcro at the back. Fabric is black, slight streatch and coated in shiny dark blue 'plastic'. Imposible to sew at night.
Fitted under the bust and six gore skirt sewn half way down. Sizes range from 75cm-90cm bust and ages 12-17 years.
At least the fabric does not fray!!
Daughter who wants the dresses 'next week' hates sewing and has no idea of the time involved.
The dresses will then need an underskirt but I will have another couple of weeks to make those.!!! I wish she was at a school with lots of co-operative parents.

Hi June
It may not be that the parents are uncooperative - they may just be incapable of sewing that kind of dress! I know I am....

Probably both Suzy. There are some co-operative parents. Some helped out with the Rock Eistedford last year in different ways. They also sometimes help with transport for sports competitions.(knock out baseball ie Proud Shield, and softball)

I hope your daughter really appreciates what you are doing to help her, sewing can be rather tiring especially when the material is dark.

Nice to hear that you have to nag the kids too Suzy
I've just had a nagging session with mine about the washing, they seem to think it does itself!!

LOL Brenda - I handed d1 2 shirts on hangers yesterday - one to wear and one to hang in the cupboard. I later found the 2nd one lying on her bed. I picked it up, rolled it in a ball, and said 'why do I bother ironing anything' before dropping it back on her bed again. Then I stormed out of the bedroom before she could see the 'oh my god I sound like my mother', and 'where did that tantrum come from!' face I had on. I guess I must really hate ironing! Or maybe I never grew up?

Oh I have days like that. Nothing worse than standing hours ironing to find it draped over chairs, beds or even the floor. Even worse is to find something which I have ironed and neatly folded in the dirty washing bin still neatly folded

That is the worst Brenda! That and 'Mum I can't find any (insert item of clothing here).' My answer to that one is always, 'well if it was in the dirty clothes basket when I did the washing, it was washed'.

Suzy, Brenda, each of my daughters at somewhere around 12 or 13 years old, became dissatisfied with the laundry service I provided. the " if it was in the basket when I washed" always lead to sulks and tears and begging and whining, "but I need it tomorrow" ! When I had enough of this behavior, I took daughter and item she needed and introduced her to the washing machine, and set down the rules like NO WASHING JUST ONE ITEM, run at least a small load. they took over thier laundry, and that was that, no more little fits.

Brenda, are you imagining the ticket collector as a member of the boat crew , and being aboard each time she sails? My idea of a ticket collector is the person left standing on the doc, who takes the last ticket, and shoves the boat away from the doc.

Look at what I've found!!!! Again Rena and Tricia...thanks for helping me to restore my chair...and the more difficult job of getting it into the new room..
I'm with you Miz T...my girl-child had a habit of leaving clothes every where except in the clothes hamper...I simply let her run out of everything and introduced her to both the washing machine, and hand washing task of small items...end of discussion. With the boy child, when I found clean clothes still folded in the clothes hamper, I threatened to bathe and dress him if I kept seeing recycled clean clothes rather than worn clothing, on a regular basis...that also brought about the expected changes. I did have to have several inspection trials before I was satified that he was scared of what I might do....

My girlfriend has tickets to 'Sex and the City' so you won't see much of me to today...time to throw some dishes in the dirty dishes cupboard [and turn it on], throw some stuff in the direction of the clothesline and skedaddle....
I usually take a stroll through the supermarket after the movies so I don't feel quite so self indulgent!
Have a good one everybody....

Plenty of room aboard but can only sleep six, for day cruises not a problem plenty more can come. MizT the temperature is always milder on the water but do bring a spray jacket and be ready for 4 seasons in the one day. Yes Bella and BJ had their own bright yellow doggie lifejackets sure I have a pic somewhere. One time when we were travelling out from the marina a couple on their houseboat could not stop laughing and yelled out to me that I thought more of my dogs than my husband has he did not have his lifejacket on. Some great memories we have had on the boat.
