Carola, the best person to explain the Kraken cell is Steve from Ohio. There was a good explanation in the "Sudoku Tips" section of this site that Steve has authored but I can't immediately find it. You could post a message on his page (Steve from Ohio) or you could contact via email at solidsudoku@yahoo.com (I'll post this message on your page as well.) Cheers!

Hi Carola. Referring to yesterday's Tough (6-3-11): After locked 6s at gh1, this still seems to allow d3=6 (as well as d8=6)?
I am not so hot on the Eureka notation, but I can usually follow someone else's, by noting:
"=" means enables(although the first use of "=" means "or".
"-" means forbids.
For a more detailed explanation, go to Dave from Minnesotta's page, where there is a reference to the archives where he explains one of his proofs.
Regards, Alfred.

Hello Carola & welcome to sudoku & jigsaws!!!!
At the top of the sudoku square are 6 ''button'' 3 on the left & 3 on the right. The middle one on the left will give you the jigsaw when you click on it!
It isn't so obvious when you're new to the place, I remember trying to find out how to get to the jigsaws when I first tried doing them!!
Have fun!

Hi Carola. I have also sent an email to Garth, but have had no reply. As someone else has suggested, he may be away on holidays.
Best Regards, Alfred.
