Mother Natures rock art.

Sundown Point, most off the time these rocks are covered by tonnes of sand then the pounding seas wash it away briefly.

I find the rock formation in this photo to be fascinating. I have taken the liberty of asking my daughter, who is a geologist, how this rock was formed. I hope you don't mind.

This is her reply -'Hi Dad, thanks for the pic!
It looks to me like mudstone which has been tilted, and then worn away by either waves or other erosion which is why you're seeing the circular lines - the edges get worn away more quickly than the centre, you'd probably find the rocks are slightly concave. This is (my guess) why there is the banding, you're looking at different layers in the stone. Then the water is getting in to the cracks more easily than other areas hence the geometric blocks.
Lovely photo - thanks for sharing! :)
