D. Austin 7 in backyard
This is my 1927 Austin 7. It has an engine of less than 800cc, but will still do 80kph (50 mph) in favourable conditions (down hill with a tail wind). It was owned for 53 years by the one family (not mine).

Hi Anne, That Smilie car is really cute and cute is the most common comment I get when I take it to shows. It is a 1929 Austin 7. The bigger car is a 1936 Chrysler C8 and it is me with the car. The Opera house took 10 days to build. Since a botched hip operation about 4 years ago I find it difficult to work on the cars and building with Lego is my substitute. Now the grandkids are becoming obsessed, so that is a bonus for me.

I first saw this picture a couple of weeks ago, and something didn't look right. I just looked again and it finally dawned on me... the front wheels are not parallel! Must make steering a lot of fun.
(Of course, it might be an optical illusion.)

Just now seeing this! Silverguy and I enjoy attending car shows, just for looking. I'd take a pic of your ride!

My father had one of these in the early 50's. I remember having to stand on the floorboards whilst he cranked it or it wouldn't start - great old car. He sold it for 20 pounds. Yours is in lovely condition.

I really appreciate and respect those who maintain classic cars. That Austin is beautiful. I cut my teeth on British roadsters back in the '60s and that's something that just stays with you. We're full circle now after a series of 'family' motors and, back to just us two are now both driving MINI, his and hers.
