to Sudokuland and your own page, Midge! I've brought a pot of Maryland Cream of Crab Soup for you and your guests. I live on the East Coast of the U.S., very near the Chesapeake Bay, home of the Maryland blue crab. You might say I live in a very "crabby" area!
We're very happy to have you here! Stop by the "easy" page and say hi to everyone.

Hey Midge, let me begin with, how great it was to meet you in chatroom today, and please accept my humble apologies, for not welcoming you to the site sooner. By the looks of the dates above, you must have snuck in in Feb.
Anyway,
Ian from Sydney is comming down to melb, and requested a Sudoku Meeting, so Dinner has been organised for Wednesday 12th March, and by the sound of all those interested, it looks like it will be in Lygon Street, exact venue not yet decided. Please consider comming along, we have so much fun and its just a great way to meet all our new friends. Let me know if that date suits you, and if your able to make it. I will fill you in with the time, place etc., once I've chosen a venue. Keep an eye out on posts also for any updated info.
Again, its been great to meet you and I so look forward to meeting you in person.

Nearly all my beer cans are indeed empty. Of the 2300, I drank roughly 1100. Two cans remain full as part of a promise made when I got them. The rest are all empty. More than 50 are Australian!

Gosh Midge, I came on to say thank you for the link to the bird site (I like the bird songs portion so far and I've saved the link so I can look again when I have more time) and I realized I have never welcomed you to the site, so a VERY belated welcome to you. Enjoy my traditional page warming gift, a double chocolate fudge beavertail pastry from Ottawa. Cheers!

Hi Midge, just saw your comment on Hard.
RIP Dunlop
Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge.
There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together.
There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by.
The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent; His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

Truman sounds like a real character, at least you know it's not the local weirdo stealing your undies!
I am pleased you chose to rescue a dog, rather than find one another way. No pet will ever replace Nat, but it might fill a little of that void...
May you and yours have a Merry Christmas, and hopefully one day we can meet up for that cuppa.

Every school holidays the steam trains run from Ballarat to Maryborough. We love to go and watch them but when my eldest brother lived at Bairnsdale [ I was only a kid then] he used to take me on the Puffing Billy for it was walking distance from his place.

Thanks for visiting my page Midge. The Jockey's caps come in heaps of colours. I think they are gorgeous too. Unfortunately that is my last one. We are revamping the garden to reduce labour and a lot of my perennials have got the chop. I hope it will be easier to garden with the new order.
I hope FIL didn't get into too much trouble. I know when others help and get too enthusiastic I have to bite my tongue, because its all done with good intentions!
