Florida's State Bird is the Northern Mockingbird, latin name Mimas polyglottos

For many months I was doing work in my house which required I clean up in the back yard. Somehow this mockingbird learned if I was spraying water, insects would run from the ground, up the grass, where the bird would catch them. One day I sat with water, and camera, spraying until I got a nice photo! The animal was appx 1 meter away.

Good shot, Jim! We've lived in Fl for over 22 years now, & I never knew that the Northern Mockingbird is the state bird! You have educated me in so many ways - thank you.
