Hey, who pulled the plug out? If you look closely at the Washington Monument in the distance, the stones in the top portion are darker than the stones below. Apparently work on the monument stopped during the Civil War, causing that colour difference.

Ah, before the earthquake. The scaffolding that is now on the monument makes it more interesting, actually, but it will be removed soon anyway and put back looking like this.
