White Alligator at Alligator Farm

An albino alligator would never survive in the wild. This one was found by a gator trapper in Lousiana several years ago, as a hatchling. It now resides at Alligator Farm in St. Augustine, Florida, USA. Alligator Farm is no longer a farm, but an AZA-rated zoo, which is the only place in North America to display and breed all 23 species of Crocodilians.

I have never seen such an animal before, not even in a photo. It is both unusual and beautiful.
You assert that albino 'gaters could never survive in the wild. Can you explain/confirm why that is? Is it a question of the usual green camouflage concealing a necessary stealth approach upon potential prey?
