One of my better attempts posing with a statue.  All I can say is that it's lucky for anybody seeing it that there's no audio.

Youtube- Julian Bream and John Williams playing my favorite piece of music, Claire de Lune, by Debussy.

It's hard to tell which one was worse, his playing or my voice.

Dear Keith: Thank you very much for the wonderful Christmas tree - please do not turn it around as that's where I stood for a while and it might look a bit 'naked' - I will come back after my Weight Watchers meeting.

Thanks Angry Ant!!!!

Hello Keith, I thought I'd better sneak back in and have some more before Rola eats the lot. She's a greedy one, that girl. She wants her cake and everyone else's too.
Oh, good, there is a wee morsel left for me. Yum!

Think I missed out again, Keith. How about you just keep making the trees daily until Christmas. I do have plans to make one myself after I start leave next week.

Merry Christmas Keith.

Not Stottish Scrawberries this time.. I've been bottling in my kitchen today so have just cooked up a few cyber bottles as well.

Just thought I’d drop you in a bottle of home made LEMON CORDIAL. It’s fantastic with water and with soda water the day after you have been on the Scrawberries. Cheers.
Ingredients:
Juice of 7 large lemons
Grated rind of 5 large lemons
1 kg sugar
1.5 litres of water
25g citric acid
Method:
1.In a large pan, boil up sugar, water, grated peel and citric acid.
2.Take off the heat and add juice, If preferred, this may be strained.
3.Bottle whilst still hot into clean, sterilised (in oven ) bottles

& to all. fi, what a recipe. The only thing I'm not sure about is the citric acid. I don't remember ever seeing that in our stores.

Here I am!!! Keith - it looks absolutely wonderful, and if there were any left (thanks Judy & Rola!), I would tell you that it was delicious. I'll have to wait until you make another. You can always try the fruity alternative and mix in dried apricots and raisins!

Thank you for the kind welcome you left on my page, and the redwood burl. Excuse my ignorance - what IS a redwood burl? Can you eat it, or is it for putting on my log fire?? I hope you have a wonderful Christmas and a very Look forward to seeing you at my housewarming in January!

This tree looks pretty pathetic, Keith! This is definitely NOT my work! I wouldn't leave any evidence to incriminate me ... Is this ALL that your whole family could eat? Pretty short hitters ...

Rosemary, lovely card. Thanks.

Mamacita, I'll be over shortly to pick out a present, if there're any left.

Liz, after the holiday season, I'm going to post some pics about Redwoods. They are native to the coastal region in the northwestern US. They live to over 1000 years old, can be over 300 feet tall, with a trunk 15-20 feet in diameter. Sadly, most of the redwood giants have been logged, there are few left. The burl is a tourist purchase to take home and grow.

Liz, I wanted to expand on what I was telling about redwood trees. I've put some pictures of the redwood tree in my back yard on my flickr site. I don't know how old it is, but it is still a baby, probably less than 100 years old. The trunk has a circumfrence of ll feet 6 inches 4 feet above ground level. At that height, the trunk looks to be about 4 feet diameter. I found a site where you could buy one of the burls I've been handing out to people on their home pages. It is:

Keith,

I got here sort of late - missed most of the mad rush to devour your Christmas goodies. But they had left me a little bit, and it was great.
Enjoyed your comments on the Redwood burls - fabulous trees - that was one of my favorite parts of my one visit to California.
Have a very Merry Christmas, and a fabulous start to 2007.

When I was a littl'un in school, we were taught that the biggest trees in the world were Redwoods. I knew that they were being cut down out of all proportion, but have never heard of a burl. Would love to have one in my big garden, thank you!
Sorry I missed out on the edible arbres!!
