i was going to ask vdV if he had a good recipe for rutabagas. maybe but Holland is not considered one of the cold countries is it? I was reading about them after i bought one in a bag of mixed fresh veggies.

Anyhow, this was the first rutabaga I had even coked. i liked it well enough. husband said his mom made those, so I need recipes. I just sliced and boiled it for tonight.

I don't know how cold it gets there, but I do think they get snow.

MizT, I collect recipe books. I'll check them and e-mail any I find to you.

Oh Becky, do not make it chore. I would appreciate a recipe or 2, if they are interesting. i have mashed with potatoes one, and baked one, i want to learn a bit of who ate them growing up and all that, too.

It's not a chore. When I look for recipes for others, I usually find one for me to try.

hehehe, I understand about that, looking for others and finding something for yourself. How I found a couple of my quilt photos today! My friend from the Stone Mountain Photo had lost allher Atlanta photos and w9ndered what I had. my quilts went to Atlanta with me cause she is a quilting friend! We had to do show and tell!

Sorry I departed so quickly. Hubby called me to the basement to see the progress on 'jeep' pedal car he is making for granddaughter.

Guess I missed her by 2 minutes. Oh, well, guess I'll catch her tomorrow.

The 'jeep' is nearly done. 'Windshield' can fold down. He made decals for a 'clock', 'speedometer' and 'radio', as well as front 'turn signals' and 'license plate' with her name on the back. It is painted 'Berry Pink' - kind of a deep hot pink (not fluorescent).

Julie, while I'm looking, is there any recipe you've been wanting?

If I was younger, I would volunteer for a test drive.

Our 20+ daughter is home and also volunteered. The problem is that she is about 5feet 10 inches tall.

I'm shorter, 5'4'. Still too big, huh?
