We didn't realize how far it was. After that, started adding up the miles listed on the trip tik.

You could go to Cleveland and stay in a posh hotel. See a show. Dinner and dancing. Museums. Baseball game.

Do you have similar interests Becky? You could plan it around a theme. 'We're both interested in .... so we could visit that'.

Drats too slow. Hi everyone. I have been reading on & off for a little while - just happened to come in & saw that it was comment no 1200, so thought I'd try for a topp. I know that sounds like cheating but I am a little too busy today to chat too much.

Does your hubby also like opera, Becky?
I assume both of you like dogs. Are there any breeders whose facility you'd like to visit? How about any other animals There's a Lippizan horse training facility kind of near us that we would like to visit this summer - maybe something like that?

Neither one of us likes opera. I love horses, but since he fell off one, he won't ride anymore.

Two days away sounds like something really nice & relaxing - nice setting, some walks, being spoiled, good food, nice comfy (even plush) room. Maybe a spa, sauna, massage. Champagne. Mmmm, I'm dreaming now & have transported myself away to another place

Other big cities in OH to check for museums, zoos, etc. are Columbus & Cincinnati? How about neighboring state - IN (Indianapolis), NY, KY? (I'm not good at geography.)

Becky, hubby and I go away on Mini Holidays (the weekend).. We have a caravan, and go to a local park. (23 kl = 14 miles) about a 30 min Drive.
I know you dont have a Caravan/Trailer and I am not suggesting that you should. You dont really need to travel far to get away, just to smell the roses and relax.

A resort -- dining, lolling by the pool, a trip to the spa, more dining, more lolling, and throw in a couple of extra toddies.

Jenni, I really like your idea - but maybe a little too girly for Becky's husband? Does he like car racing? (Do you?) We need more hints of your interests. You mentioned Gettysburg. Are there any historical sites in OH? What about any manufacturing plants? Kohler (bathtubs, faucets, toilets, fancy spa-like stuff like that) manufactures in WI, and you can get a tour of the facility & their idea rooms.

I'll do some checking around on the net and the library. I've got some time (early fall) to come up with an idea. Just don't like to put things off till the last minute.

This just sounds TOOO idyllic. I'm with you Jenni. Definately somewhere with a spa. Rola, thou art so wise. It doesn't need to be far to be a break. For our anniversaries, we go to the same motel each time, book the Champagne Suite, of course, eat at the same Indian restaurant and then take a leisurely Sunday drive back home, usually through a winery district. For the scenery only.

Julie, if I went to the Kohler plant, I'd probably get kicked out. Would just have to tell them what I think about their product.
