So is UTC = GMT? Our clocks switch a week later this year. Not exactly sure why but it doesn't make any difference to me.

Hi Stella and Rolanda
When they have kids of their own they will then understand Rolanda, and even then you will worry about them too

We all slept in this morning! Hubby and S#2 are late for school and work. Somehow the alarm got turned off. They both need the alarm, but I usually don't. I didn't get a good sleep so I slept through my internal alarm!

what time is it in Saratoga Stella
next week when we go on Daylight you will have to add 1 hour to the time difference.
the following week when you come off Daylight Savings, you need to add another hour to the time difference

OK, now stop it, all of you! You're all just talking gibberish. You know that all time is now measured as SST, Sudoku Standard Time!

It is 8am at the moment. In a couple of weeks, we'll turn the clock back an hour. This is going to be confusing!

Ciao Brenda, great to catch up with you.
Stella, we have had a relatively frenzied weekend, due to Preshus's birthday, and all that entails! Tomorrow she goes for her driver's license, so hopefully that will be the first step to my independence!

GMT/UTC/ZULU time are all the same thing. Use to be called GMT now called UTC and military people call it Zulu. it is time with reference to an imaginary line passing from the north poth through Greenwich (UK) to the south pole.

Tell her good luck and to relax! Here they go for the jugular if the tester smells fear! Although, the tester was extraordinarily nice to D#1 when she took her test. I think it was because she has a pretty smile and was sincere. Good luck!! (to you both!)

Thanks vdV! I was going to ask what UTC stood for but then I didn't want to look dumb. My brother would know though. He has his clocks set to it!

Thanks mate, I appreciate it.
Her instructor tonight said she had it all down but she just had to be careful to remember all the little things, because that is what will be the decider. Up here, they really actually want the kids to get their license because we are fairly isolated and the kids need transport for work or further education etc because here, they stay home to go on to tertiary study. Oh joy! So in the testing, they just have to prove their concentration level, if you know what I mean. I'm not really explaining it very well! I'm a bit tired.

S#2 has another soccer game today. This is the last week of school soccer. He still has his travel team but we'll be down to one team, at least until basketball starts. Although, he doesn't think he'll make the school basketball team since they have a lot of 8th graders and he's short and skinny for a 7th grader.

Yes, I understand Gail. The tester knows the situation and is just looking for outrageous mistakes to fail. We have areas like that here as well. Some of the kids took the test up north instead of in my town for that very reason.

Yes, all my kids have had their tests in various rural towns. In fact, I have travelled far and wide to get them to their tests!
I thought the same thing about the SSST, Stella. My tongue is getting tripped up while I type! Parsaltongue, good one . The word that came to my mind was sibilate, from when I used to do crosswords, pre-sudoku!
