Cyndi, we had 3 rain showers over the weekend, Saturday afternoon till Sunday morning. I think that was the last time. I know I am watering my tomato plants every day last 3 days.

Hubby was at work when I did it. He gave me a short lecture when he got home.
I didn't tell him that I was sore.

Stella, could you have a sinus infection that is bringing on the headaches?
The schools started today and are closing tomorrow because of the heat.

Son just found a hugenourmous spider in the computer room. Can't identify it, it's body is about the size of a quarter and it's brown, but the guys don't think it's a recluse. They are, however, poring over the computer in deep discussion.

Cyndi, it sounds like what we call a wolf spider. Do you have trees or bushes close to your house? That's where they usually nest.

When I was in school, we were told to tough it out. The only time our schools closed was when the buses couldn't get through the snow.
They are talking about a heat index of 113 tomorrow.

MizT, I don't know. They just came on the news tonight saying that schools were going to be closed due to the heat. So, I guess they are going to use weather day.

Becky I remember being so hot , espically comming in from recess, we would sit and fan. One teacher made us put our heads on our desk and sit very quitely, and she would read to us till we cooled down. NO air con in schools back then! September and May both can be very hot here. BUT not 112!!

Becky, they've already excluded a wolf spider. Guess I'll find out tomorrow when I call the "bug guy" back (again). We've also seen a couple of earwigs, a little spider and a couple of centipedes. Methinks the last spraying didn't work so well.
Non-airconditioned schools up north?

MizT, we don't know yet. They are in Hawaii visiting her uncle. Will get all the poop when they get back. She is such a nice girl.

Cyndi, I found the bug guys just do not have the means to rid of bugs like they did way back when. they have banned the chemicals that killed so efficently. NOT GOOD for people and beneficial insects, so we have to tolerate more bugs, insects , now.

No, not a sinus infection. I've had enough of those to know when I get one. But, the sinuses are definitely involved because of allergies.
Congratulations on your nephew's engagement, Becky.

We finaly got our heat index down with this rain, but I fear it is headed right back up. I didn't go outside today--way too humid, don't know what that translated to when we hit 93F.
Becky, I don't know about Stella, but my sinus headaches definitely feel different from my migraines.

Thanks Stella. The reason I asked is when hubby gets one it's either because of a sinus infection or a scent.

Well, last night S#2 decided to "shave" and use his brother's Axe before we went to dinner. The small was so bad we had to turn around and go home so he could take a shower. The smell of the cologne was very strong and horrible!

Those scents can be deadly. When I was still working, so many of our little old lady patients would come in after they dusted down in their talc, and it got me every time.

HI ruby, glad you did not blow to the land of Ozz in your rain. Is it cooler tonight?
I think the nearby rain originated in SC, visited GA, and then came on down, Just litle scattered showers, but I saw the group of them moving that direction, not the norm for our weather. this moving from North east to south west. usual is from south west to north east! Topsy turvy world at the moment.

I like the smell of a good perfume. But, some people overdo it and ruin the scent. I've found one that he can tolerate, but still don't use it.

Hi Ruby, how are you?
It could have been the cologne. By the time we got to the restaurant I needed 3 advil and then when I got home, I had to take the tylenol with codeine.

Yes, Axe is the name of the cologne. Teenage boys tend to use it. Some schools have banned it because the smell is so strong. S#1 got it as a gift but never used it. After he left, S#2 must have been snooping through the things he left behind.
