Max was allowed back on his own computer (which will be taken away again if he doesn't get his summer reading done for school!) and he has been playing soccer on the pooter with the time alloted.

No plans as yet. Not sure of tomorrow's weather. (Although H just read over my shoulder and told me its going to be cold with extra coldness tonight! Had thought about chauffering him around a couple of wineries but not if that's the forecast!

Oh I see. Yes, we've just had to put limitations on D#3's pooter use after getting a 'homework not done' letter! Remarkably, she has taken it quite well.

If he could just put a fraction of the energy he puts into the things he wants to do, into what he should do, he would get everything done!

Andrew is now in the process of growing his hair again I much prefer him with short hair as it always looks dirty when he has it long even though I know it isn't dirty

On my page, Angie left me a message about putting the snow pictures in a puzzle. When I went to check my pictures to see if there was a way to submit them right from the page, the two pictures of the snowcapped trees couldn't be viewed. I've been spending time trying to figure out what happened and I just ended up deleting them.

Was he really upset that his hair was buzzed?

Not really upset, We had badgered him into having it cut for charity but in the end we didn't push him to do it. He sorted out the sponsorship forms and got a lot of his university friends to sponsor him. He made nearly £200 for Cancer research so didn't do too bad.

Was his hair used for wigs for people with cancer? They have a program here called, Locks for Love. Longe hair is cut and given to make wigs for people who go through chemo.

They don't have anything like that scheme over here much to our disappointment. We can sell his hair to a company (the only one) who will buy from individuals. We intend to do this and the proceeds will again go to cancer research.

I have just had a look at your photos and they are great. You have a huge family, a big party when you all get together.

Yes, I have a big family. We all get together a few times a year. My brother is moving to Virgina, so it will be hard since we tended to gather at his house. (He had a great room, a large deck and lived by the beach)

I can't find how to access the photos on the site. There used to be an archive of them, but I can't find them. Also, it says there is a backlog of photos, so I don't think I'll submit them anyway. Maybe Gath should weed some of the poorer quality photos out.

All this hair cutting for wigs puts me in mind of 'The Gift of the Magi.'

I forgot that you have to hit the quotation marks twice to get it to print right. So while I'm on the subject, how do you underline?

Anyone know of a way to get mold out of cotton? S#2 balled up his wet uniform shirt and threw it in his closet. Is it a lost cause?

Stella, You can boil the shirt. Add a 1/2 cup of vinegar to water, and get it hot, before you put the shirt in. The vinegar will kill the bacteria Boiling will bring back the whiteness(assuming the shirt is white to start). Before putting the shirt in the boiling water, rub the mold stains with a lemon...Let it 'cook' for at least 30 minutes moving it around in the water....it use to work for me but I haven't done it in a long while...its worth trying before dumping the shirt. It may need repeated boiling to get all of the mold out.

I'm not bad. I thought of a nap earlier because I was just so tired, but I had to keep at S#2 to do some reading. Still trying to sort out all of the school supplies.

Listening to all this talk of getting ready to go back to school makes me glad I homeschool Amber. I certainly don't miss that rush at the end of summer to get them ready. My boys went to school until they were in grades 6 & 3. I do miss the alone time though.

Dinner time here and hubby won't make the original dinner that he planned. So now we are having leftovers, which I don't want. So now I have to think of something to eat.
