It seems that SA7 is getting old and slow. It is time for a new page. Welcome to SA8.

I hope you are feeling a bit better Heidi.

Tami ...truer words have never been spoken. It was driving me crackers not being able to do things. I managed remarkably well at the market yesterday...wasn't busy [Christmas hols for most] and was able to park close which cuts down the walking but even so I didn't have to stop because of pain! I'm not saying it didn't hurt... it just didn't reach the stage where I wanted to jump of a cliff! I was so impressed that when a friend rang and asked if I wanted to go to a concert I said YES!!

TWO outings in one day...what is the world coming to!!

Today I got two new additions to the family/menagerie. I added a nearly 12 year old Collie named Rain, and a baby turtle that I may call Frosty. I found her encased in ice under an unburned edge of a bonfire.

I hadn't seen this particular friend since the Halloween party and he commented on how good it was to see the old Bean back... told me how worried he had been at the time of the party and how he had feared that I wouldn't be around for much longer I was in such a bad way. He knew something that no-body else knew - that night I was in such a bad way [mechanical & physiological breakdown] his wife had to dress me... I couldn't even dress myself or powder my tush [and I am not referring to a the canine teeth on a horse..]

They commented on how they didn't know how I had stayed upright on the night of the party and got through it all [not sure myself - grit, determination and more than partial inebriation to kill the pain]...
I hadn't realised that I was looking almost as bad as I was feeling.... obvious through the eyes of someone who has known me for over 15 years... the sudoku crowd have only ever known me since the decline in my health...that was when I found myself spending time on the computer and discovered sudoku world...

Hi everyone.
Have been battling a flu type thingy again,
got it just before christmas day and still have it.
Have been to a doc, but not my usual one as she was away.
Had anti-biotics and demazin but no improvement whatsoever so off to my doc tomorrow morning at 8.30am.
Too warm for me here lately.
Hope everyone else is fit and well and hope you are getting better Bean.

Heidi I am so sorry to hear about Lucky.
It is awful watching your dog fit. Old Tom occasionally has a fit. He caught a cricket ball one day just as Lachie hit it... he was so quick in those days...have no idea where he suddenly appeared from... darted out from nowhere...

Strangely enough it didn't stop him wanting to play cricket...it did mean that he was locked up when the bat and ball came out... He has had the occasional fit since then. I think he must have a bit of an 'aura' or premonition of an impending fit because he used to come and hang around my feet and literally cling to me. I am sure he knew it was coming. Once it was done he would sleep it off and then trot off happily as if nothing had happened leaving me to mop the floor...

Yes, June, we're trying to get to 500 pages, and doing it in as silly a manner as possible.
Bean... there was nothing inappropriate about your comment. I've dealt with epilepsy in dogs before, and never encountered anything like this. Years ago, I worked part time for our Animal Control in our county... I was on call after hours and on weekends for emergencies. One night I got a call from the police dispatcher about a dog believed to have been hit by a car right in front of a High School Dance. They brought the dog, a Bassett Hound , in to the building with the kids, to keep it warm. When I showed up, the kids and the adult chaperones were all panicking, believing the dog to be in the last death throes. As soon as I forced my way through the crowd, and saw the dog, I smiled with relief. She had epilepsy. She was also apparently well cared for, so I believed that she had been on some treatment. Which proved to be the case. The owner had been going frantic trying to find her.

I had a hard time 4 years ago when our yorkie, Beau, went peacefully in his sleep. I can't imagine losing as many animals as you have recently at one time. I hope that you know how much I care for you and that you are in my thoughts.

Enough of being mushy. It warmed up today. Our high was about 74. It is supposed to get colder tomorrow. High of about 50 something, low about 35. It was 33 years ago that I experienced snow in Miami. It is supposed to rain this weekend. Hmmmm

It's STILL snowing. I think I've had my quota for the year already. The snow plows have been up and down our road at least 3 times today, and the roads are still covered with snow! THIS is why I left Wisconsin!

I did too much today (and was overly stressed) so my back is in agony. Feeding the dogs nearly made me black out. I'm off to bed in a few, and plan on sleeping in late.
