I'm back from the Book Week 'parade'. It was wonderful! I took some photos, but I'm horrible with the camera so don't know if any of them will work out... If they do I'll post them, probably not today. The skirt, tie and jumper that I did for Ally hardly showed! Should have stopped at the cloak!

I also have to go shopping, there is only enough milk for ONE cup of coffee! Now that the parade is over I have to pull my house back together, finish the pamphlet delivery etc etc. Probably only time to buy milk on my shopping trip - darn.

Brenda - Welcome back! Hope your holiday was great, with good weather, good company, and fun things to do.

Gail - the smilies are SO cute! Wish I'd been more organised.

Mamacita - glad the stress test is over, but sorry to hear about the bruises.

Viv - I still ache afterwards, but not the next day, which is a HUGE improvement - and the scales say I've dropped a kg!!!!

Mariana - Ally is practising with a choir at the moment, but probably won't be singing with them! I know, weird. She has a solo and a character thing in carols in the park so goes to practice, but is too old to be a reindeer and too young to be in the adult choir so we're not sure what else she'll do on the night.

I buy 3 litre containers because I still have my American fridge which fits gallon containers in the door. When I replace it I will probably switch to 2 litre bottles - they float around at the moment.

Vici...nothing real exciting....

Started off the day with a doctors appointment at 9.30 which low and behold I was early for.
Did a little weeding when I got home ...the sunshine was irresistible....then off to my next appointment..

Went and met up with my sewing cronies and invited them all to lunch...date TBA....it will have to wait until I find the table....I'm sure it is under all those papers and washing...
Got a call from the agency and before I could think up a good reason not to work [don't think it being a nice sunny day would cut it] I committed myself.

Next came the frantic search for my work shirt and trousers....it is so long since I've worked I wasn't sure they would still fit.... found my shirt in the last place I looked...on a coat hanger in the wardrobe... but DIRTY!!!Wash, wash, dry, dry , iron, iron......is it worth it for a bit of money?? All this stress.

Luckily I knew the hospital and so I didn't get lost finding my way to the operating rooms.... I was given a swipe card [to open all the doors] and sent off to find the change rooms. WELL..... couldn't find some scrubs big enough to fit comfortably over my chest...twas like being in a straight jacket!! [just adding breast reduction to my list of things to be done....] One good thing about not being in surgical scrubs like everyone else was it labeled me loud and clear - I am NEW so don't ask me anything and expect me to know where or what it is!!

I was responsible for receiving the patients...you know...the nice nurse that gets to ask you to spell your name, do you know what is being done today, when did you last eat, any allergies, dentures...piercings or jewelry in interesting places..... Mastered checking them in and out on the computer and even managed to call the patients down from the ward in time so that none of the surgeons were held up....quite a feat with 8 or 9 operating rooms and surgeons on the go...

Was doing really well [and finally had the last body checked in] UNTIL...
went to check last patient in on the computer...subconsciously noticed a bag on my chair and tried to perch on the edge of the chair and guess what happened.....I'll give you a clue....highly polished floors and chairs on wheels that move...

YEP...and now for the floor show....that is Bean with a very red face spreadeagled all over the floor in an undignified heap. My pride and demeanor shattered I assured everyone that I was ok!!!! LOL.....not.....ROFL!!!!! Yep...can take me anywhere!!

It was suggested that I go find myself a drink....good idea....could you make mine a double.... When I returned the Incident Form was underway [to make sure everybody heard about my escapade....seriously it is for work cover/safety etc.] I was asked if I wanted to go home seeing as the surgical list was finished early.....guess what I said......
