I'm not quite sure where in IL Pretzel City is - I'm in Naperville - just outside of Chicago, I went to SIU and my son is in the Quad cities. Hi, Dave! I've been negligent. Sorry about that! Welcome to your page!I welcomed you the first time I saw you post, because I know where the Pretzel City is. An opthalmologist from there performed surgery on my eyes when I was about 8 or so (too many years ago to count). I also was involved with Girl Scouts & went to Pretzel City for some council meetings and council-wide events while in high school.

I'm glad your cataract surgery went well! Did you do both eyes at the same time? My husband just had cataract surgery on 1 eye - almost 2 weeks ago, so still using LOTS of eye drops. The opthalmologist who did my eye (muscle) surgery (probably almost 50 years ago) was Dr. K, who I believe passed away some time ago.

I haven't been in downtown Pretzel City in about 30 years, but we often stop at Culver's when going to my home town along the river. A couple of years ago it was a weekly weekend trip when my dad wasn't doing too well. A couple of years before that it took all summer (1 day a week) to sort through stuff in the family home of 50 plus years after he moved to assisted living.

It has probably been 40 years since I was in Pretzel City's high school for Girl Scout functions. I think the community college there opened around then. Ah - the memories.

Are you a native pretzel - or moved there sometime later?

Dave - it sounds like you are having some miserable weather. As they say when it rains it pours - they didn't say anything about the heat being turned up. When it comes to rain, what I like less than a down pour is the 'sprinkle' that is just enough to get your car dirty - not enough to do any good (it generally happens just after you wash your car).
