Welcome Floss, isn't it nice to have your own room. It will be nice once you've decorated it to your liking.
Here, have this bottle of wine as a house warming present. Yes, I will have a drink with you, thanks.

Hi Floss just dropped in to say hello and to wish you an early happy birthday. Seems you have lots to celebrate. I hope you have a blast while on holiday. Take many pictures so we can enjoy vicariously. Please check your freezer before you go as I've placed some ice cream there, to go with the cake for your birthday.

Hi Floss! Dropped in but I guess you're still sleeping after your trip to my place. Left an assortmant of beavertail pastries for you since you didn't want them to get water-logged on your trip back. Also, to take care of that dripping I left some Canadian duct tape and some rust inhibiter.

Hi Floos. Just wanted to stop in and wish you the best! 2007 is around the corner. A whole new year coming up, and so much will happen during this coming year. I do hope that you and yours enjoy peace, happiness, good times, (chocolate for those of you who indulge), and should there be some sorrow that befalls you, I do hope you weather it well and stay strong and positive. HAPPY NEW YEAR!

When our lawn mower broke and wouldn't run, my wife kept hinting to me that I should get it fixed. But, somehow I always had something else to take care of first..the truck, the car, and fishing..always something more important to me.

Finally she thought of a clever way to make her point. More...

When I arrived home one day, I found her
seated in the tall grass, busily snipping away with a tiny pair of sewing scissors.

I watched silently for a short time and then went into the house. I was gone only a few minutes.
When I came out again I handed her a toothbrush.

'When you finish cutting the grass,' I said, 'you might as well sweep the sidewalk.'

The doctors say I will walk again, but I will always have a limp.

Don't think that's actually what you wanted, but just thought I'd throw it in. I know I have Dumb and Dumber - I remember now it's in my email folder. I'll be right back.

God's thoughts on lawns:

God: Frank, you know all about gardens and nature. What in the world is
going on down there on the planet? What happened to the dandelions,
violets, thistles and stuff I started aeons ago? I had a perfect
maintenance free garden plan. Those plants More...

grow in any type of soil,
withstand drought and multiply with abandon. The nectar from the long
lasting blossoms attracts butterflies, honeybees and flocks of birds. I
expected to see a vast garden of colours by now. But all I see are these
green rectangles…

St. Francis: It's the tribes that settled there, Lord, The Suburbanites.
They started calling your flowers weeds and went to great lengths to kill
and replace them with grass.

God: Grass! But it's so boring. It's not colourful. It doesn’t attract
butterflies, birds and bees. only grubs and sod worms. It's sensitive to
temperatures. Do these Suburbanites really want grass growing down there?

St. Francis: Apparently so, Lord. They go to great pains to grow it and
keep it. They begin each spring by fertilizing grass and poisoning any
other crop which comes up in their lawn.

God: The spring rains and warm weather probably make grass grow really
fast. That must make the Suburbanites happy.

St. Francis: Apparently not ,Lord. As soon as it grows a little, they cut
it-sometimes twice a week.

God: They cut it? Do they then bail it into hay?

St. Francis: Not exactly Lord. Most of them rake it up and put it into
bags.

God: They bag it? Why? Is it a cash crop? Do they sell it?

St. Francis: No, Lord, just the opposite. They pay to throw it away.

God: Now let me get this straight. They fertilize grass so it will grow.
And when it does grow they cut it and throw it away.

St. Francis: Yes, Sir.

God: These Suburbanites must be relieved in the winter when we cut back on
the rain and turn down the heat. That surely slows the growth and saves
them a lot of work.

St. Francis: You aren't going to believe this, Lord. When the grass stops
growing so fast, they drag out hoses and pay more money to water it so they
can continue to mow it and pay to get rid of it,

God: What nonsense. At least they kept some of the trees. That was a sheer
stroke of genius, if I do say so myself. The trees grow leaves in the
spring to provide beauty and shade in the summer. In the autumn they fall
to the ground and form a natural blanket to keep moisture in the soil and
protect the trees and bushes. It's a natural cycle of life.

St. Francis: You better sit down, Lord. The Suburbanites have drawn a new
circle. As soon as the leaves fall they rake them into great piles and pay
to have them hauled away.

God: No. What do they do to protect the shrubs and trees in winter to keep
the soil moist and loose?

St. Francis: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something
they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place

St. Francis: After throwing away the leaves, they go out and buy something
they call mulch. They haul it home and spread it around in place of the
leaves.

God: And where do they get this mulch?

St. Francis: They cut down trees and grind them up to make mulch.

God: Enough! I don't want to think about this anymore. St Catherine,
you're in charge of the arts. What have you scheduled for tonight?

St. Catherine: Dumb and Dumber, Lord .It's a story about...........

God: Never mind. I think I just heard the whole story from St. Francis.

Phew, did it, i hope. Had to go back to Archives to find it. While I was trawling archives, I found on Nov 8th or so that you had health problems, had had tests and were expecting results mid Dec. So, OK, how were they? Good I hope.

Hi Floss, I had always wondered where Hawks Nest was until I went to Nelsons Bay. We caught the ferry to Tea Gardens and suddenly it all clicked. If only I had known you were there we could have had lunch or something. You sure live in a beautiful part of the world.
Best wishes to you.
