I agree with what everyone else has said. I hadn't seen or heard about this memorial before.

It is a new memorial commemorating the Centenary of ANZAC. It is a most impressive place, situated high on a hill overlooking King George Sound, the harbour where the convoy assembled taking the troops to Egypt at the beginning of WWI. But it is the inside that is it's most impressive feature. It is a solemn, sensitive place - a fitting memorial to those who died in the carnage of the War. Each visitor is issued with a card showing a photo of a soldier who fought at ANZAC - Aussie, Kiwi or Turk and you can follow his story from enlistment to final fate by placing the card on a sensitive detector at various places around the memorial and it produces an audio and a visual guide to his progress through the War. I have never seen this before. But above all, it is a quiet place of solemn contemplation. It is an extraordinarily effective memorial.

FOUND IT! Ian - I kept a few local newspapers which contained a lot of news about the Anzac Day Celebrations in Albany. Here is what I was looking for:- 'Brad Lucas (a young chap), a plumber by trade, was inspired by a painting he found online and decided to set out depicting the image in sculpture form. He took 14 weeks to finish the sculpture.'
It is made out of copper. If I remember rightly, it was initially displayed in town for the parades then was on show at our local Arts Centre. It has only recently been installed at the Anzac Memorial Building as I can't recall it being there when I took Vicki and her husband from Queensland there a few months ago.
