I HEAR these fellas in our neighborhood. We have lots of pine trees. Every once in a while, one can be seen hammering on a house. (We had that happen last year.) I like them, though.

GREAT shot of this handsome fella! You really caught the 2 stiff tail feathers that they use for bracing themselves when going after bugs and grubs in wood.
