you could start a new category. A TOPP-BLOCK. A TOPP that blocks someone posting multiple times.

Dinner time. Just checking to see if anyone is around. Just having hamburgers and hotdogs for dinner. Just got home from doing a little school shopping with the kids. Fun, fun, fun! NOT!

Good evening! The kids gave me their gift cards that they got for their birthdays and Christmas. The companies that provide these cards are making BIG bucks. Even though these cards were prepaid for, they have expiration dates and the company charges a maintenance fee of $1.50 to $2.50 A MONTH to 'maintain' the card after one year. It's really outrageous. The company already has the money! The stores benefit from those not using it right away because the merchandise has gone up in price so when the person uses it they end up spending more. They must be making billions of dollars off of these gift cards. So many people forget about them or forget to use them and think they'll use it next time. Aaarrgghh! It makes me mad. I want to put up posters telling people not to buy the gift cards. I will NEVER purchase one again!

I am having trouble uploading pictures to my page. For some reason, the first picture works and then I get an 'X' for the next picture. I can't upload another one unless I exit the site completely.

Yes, and I don't think she really understands how hard it will be to travel a road you've never been on, trying to see the signs and figure out the directions, all by yourself.

How far away is the first leg of the trip? If it's not too far away, maybe you or hubby could ride with her while the other follows in another car.

The trip to LI is about 230 miles. It's not an easy trip and the roads and bridges have tolls so it is also expensive. Once she's on LI, her friends will all follow each other on Monday to go to Cape Cod, which is another 240 miles.

Guess that idea is out. If you or a friend have AAA, they provide trip tics at no cost. They're nice because they show everything (construction, etc.) and give brief, concise directions.

Also, she won't be leaving tomorrow until after work at 4pm. I don't want her driving in the dark either because you know how hard it is to find your way in unfamiliar territory in the dark.

She will have a GPS and she was with me last weekend when we went down (not that she was paying attention)! It's not just her lack of experience, it's the other crazy drivers out there. Last week when I was near the Bronx, two motorcycles sped past me and scared me. They must have been going around 90 and the city speed limit is only 50. The second one came really close to me when he was cutting across the lane.

I can't convince her not to go and she doesn't want me driving down as well (nor do I want to make that trip) I'm just going to have to do alot of praying!!

Since it doesn't get dark until around 8:30-9, most of her driving will be during daylight. That's a plus. About the only thing you can do is to tell her to call every so often to let you she's ok.

Yes, I was just thinking that. I'll have to give her my earpiece for her cell phone. At least in this day and age, everyone has a cell phone and it makes it that much safer. I remember when I was in college coming home for Thanksgiving and it took 7 hours rather than 3 1/4. I don't remember if my parents were worried but they must have been beside themselves!

At that age we didn't see what the big deal was. That's probably what she's thinking, too. Some things never change.

Well on to a more cheery topic! Youngest son is so cute looking for youtubes that he likes that he thinks others will like as well. He put the Ratatouille preview and then Billy Joel's Piano Man and he is so excited when he sees that people have actually viewed it. It makes me laugh!
