How many miles would she be driving, Stella?

D#1 never having driven any distance and then driving this particular route is dangerous. Especially going through the Bronx because of the roads that have to be crossed in order to get on the highway.

Would most of the driving be done by herself? Would anyone else be in the car? Is there some way for her to get to her destination using public transportation?

I thought D#1 was going to Boston.

It's about 220 miles to Long Island and then another 270 miles from Long Island to Cape Cod.

Stress will do it every time Stella..it may be easier for you to go to help drive...and relieve your mind about her safety.

D#1 goes to school in Boston but she is meeting all of her friends from school, first on LI and then they are going to Cape Cod to one of the kid's summer house.

Ruby, I think Stella's daughter will be going to college in Boston. Right now, she's worried about a trip planned with some friends.

Stella - wow, that's almost 600 miles and more than she could drive in a day.

Well, I know you will come up with something...its getting late and I have some things to do before bed time...so goodnight to all. It was fun chatting.

Several of the friends and roommates are flying in from Panama, Hawaii, California, Nebraska and a few other places. So the ones from NY are picking them up from JFK and driving them to the Cape. D#1's roommate will be driving with her, but she doesn't drive. The rest of the cars are full. I was thinking of asking her to get one of the boys to drive but I haven't talked to her yet.

Thanks for asking, Stella. Yes, it is a bit better and she was able to eat some dinner. She's hoping to meet with a high school friend on Saturday, so that indicates that she's hoping to be better and able to focus to drive.

I know you and hubby will make the best decision about your daughter doing that driving. I know who you feel. It can be daunting and terrifying!

I do have a funny observation from my trip today. there is a man standing on the side of the bush highway at an intersection. there is some electronic epuiptment beside him, behind an official looking baracade. man is talking on his cell phone, and then he starts pointing in a northerly directing and talking and pointing and flapping his hand, very antimated pointing indeed. I am sure the person he was conversing with understood the conversation soooo much better because of the pointing hehehe. Al and I both giggled for about a block, thinking about that. should have had a video camera!

MizT, that is clearly why you cannot talk on the phone at the same time as driving! Not enough hands to get your point across.
