Stella, your story reminds me of our ex-neighbors. Last year, after a couple of weeks of rain, one of their sons went swimming in the local river and got stranded on a small mound in the middle. When they tried to rescue him, he tried to swim away.

When we visited them the last time, he was VERY disappointed to see that they had bought a plastic 'truck' for her to ride in - actually just has a seat and she moves it with her feet. The 'jeep' is a surprise.

Julie, sounds nice. My FIL made a small car that was shaped like a plane for all the grandkids.

He thinks he'll paint it pink. Since our daughter and SIL hope to have more children, I'm thinking maybe it should be a 'neutral' color. He says he'll just make another one in a fire engine shape if they should have a boy. Meanwhile, they live about 1500-2000 miles from us, I think, and we need to get it there.

Becky, that is such a neat idea. I'll have to tell him about the plane.

Just remembered I had a small pedal car when I was little. Used to ride it up and down the alley behind our house.

That's an ambitious project Julie! You must take a picture of it when it is done.

Our other daughter isn't married yet. I keep reminding him that what he makes for one daughter's children, he should plan on making for the other daughter's children.

As I was about to turn the tv off, the news about the wrestler was on.

Julie, I think that's why he made only one and kept it at his house.

Becky, has your hubby started looking at any of the ideas for a get-away?

He's looked at them, but won't commit or give any ideas of his own.

Becky, making one ride-on vehicle would be a great idea if they lived near us. Unfortunately, since our granddaughter was born, they have only been able to visit twice, for about 2 days each time, near Christmas. Anything he would make wouldn't get much use, at that rate.

Becky, I think you also mentioned that your get-away probably wouldn't happen until fall, so he has time to read and think.

Julie, I see what you mean. Most of the grandkids lived within 4 block radius of his house.

I have to go and do some real work. Nice chatting with you all. Hope you all sleep well when it is bedtime for you. Probably see you tomorrow.

I'll probably make the final decision. With him it's out of sight, our of mind. Plus, in the end he'll tell me to choose.

Did you eat dinner? Sometimes eating helps get rid of them. Or try one of the ideas here. You don't want to have the hiccups when you want to go to bed.

Julie, we ate supper about 3 hours ago. I think I ate too much.

Another idea I've heard for getting rid of hiccups is to drink from the wrong side of the glass, though I need to admit that I've never tried it.

Tried it years ago. Ended up wearing more of the water than drinking it.

Did it make you laugh? Maybe laughing will help to get rid of them?
