hi Becky. Julie, in answer to your previous question .... no, the phone is fairly quiet here today, but the doc. is here, so there are patients. I can post when he is doing a treatment, then I have to leave you all briefly to bill the patients & take their money!!

Becky, a middle school math teacher used this method for kids who get hiccups. Bear with me.

Fill a glass with water. Hold a butter or table knife against your temple. Drink the water while keeping the knife against your temple. It always worked for the kids, and I have used it myself.

Hope it helps you!

Jenni, I bet you wouldn't mind stopping to take the money if you got to keep it yourself.

My foolproof method for relieving hiccups is to suck on a spoonful of sugar, very, very slowly. It sounds gross I know, but works every time for me

Well, ladies I just popped in for a minute. Hubby just got out of the shower and now it's my turn. I'll try and get back later.

What I usually do is chew a tablespoon full of sugar. Haven't done it yet. Keep thinking they'll go away any minute.

Stella, it was a new trick for me, as well. It doesn't seem to make sense, but it sure seemed to work. The teacher used to keep a few paper cups in the room and a table knife in his locked desk drawer.

I've heard of the spoonful of sugar, but have never tried it. 'Just a spoonful of sugar makes the medicine go down..'

It's a wonder the teacher didn't get in trouble for having students hold a knife to their head!

It was just a NON-sharp rounded table knife, and they held the flat side of the blade against their temple.

That's why he kept the knife in a locked drawer - even though it was just a table knife.

Sorry, I'm slow to reply. Julie, I used to own a restaurant for 11 years - hubby in the kitchen, me on the floor

I just heard fireworks here. There must be something going on at the track up the road but I didn't hear anything about it. The kids probably saw them from the drive-in.

Julie, it was a fine dining, French restaurant. And yes, very time consuming, tiring, stressful, but fun at times. Was very glad to sell it though

A famous (at least around here) French restaurant has just closed. It was called Le Francais. I don't know how to make the little curly thing that attaches to the bottom of the c.

It's hard to figure out why it closed. There are so many people who go out to eat, but not many French restaurants.
