The baseball party was good. The adults chatted while the kids went swimming and played in the yard. It was very nice of the coach to have it at his house after he volunteered as their coach all season!

Can't stay long today. Have duties!!! So in one post each, what was the best thing that happened to you today? And the worst?

Hi Stella & Julie. I am here keeping an eye on the posts but can't always post myself as we have clients here on Wed. morning & boss is here. So you guys chat away, & I will put in the occasional comment.

The best thing was that I got 1 room completely picked up, organized, and cleaned. That was also the worst thing.

The brownies were good and a 'hit'. They weren't balls though. I bake the brownies on a cookie sheet and then use a cookie cutter that ai round to cut them. Then I striped them like a baseball with powdered sugar. The kids and the adults liked them. I made one in the shape of a bat too.

I pay homage to all who volunteer with kids. Been there, done that. Every time I drive past the footy field late on a cooold winter's evening and see them training in the rain, I say a silent word of thanks to the mums and dads who still do!

Sheesh Jenni, the job'd be alright if it weren't for the clients and boss!

I was a certified soccer coach and coached youngest son's team for three years. I also was an assistant soccer and softball coach at the high school. I haven't done it in two years and don't have to do it now, thank goodness!

Not only was the post slow, I even lost my connection to the site. It has taken a while to get back in. I was surprised to see that my post went through.

And the telephone, Gail, you forget the telephone!!!!!!

I think one of the kids ate the bat. It was small. The best thing was getting the brownies done and everyone liking them and admiring them. (pathetic, I know) The worst thing was the kids saying that they didn't need me to go to the drive-in with them, they could handle it. D#1 thought she was doing me a favor, but I really wanted to go.

She probably would have been annoyed because I think she was taking the two younger ones so we didn't have to go and had everything all packed up and ready to leave when I got home with Ian. He just hopped in her car and they left.

D#1 had a free night since she has a day off from work tomorrow. I did tell her I would take them so she could rest or go out with her friends, but she said she would take them. And they were in a hurry to leave.
