Walking up and down the soccer fields today actually helped. It loosened me up a bit.

I'm surprised Topper didn't try to sneak in.

The page is very slow today, or maybe it's my computer. I put a few hundred photos of the soccer games on my computer this afternoon. I probably used up all the space.

I was kicked out and bounced around a bit before I could get back in...so its not just you Stella...the are at work.

D#2 has been tickled pink all day (when she wasn't fighting with S#2) 'playing' with her new phone. Maybe I've discovered the real reason she wanted to go away to school, so she can have her own phone!!!

Oh good! Not good that you were kicked out, just that it's not me! hehe

H was going to make spiedies for dinner but D#1 and S#1 are at graduation parties so I think the big meal is off.

My hhubby is fixing roast beef, smashed potatoes, green beans, and I made some cole slaw...I can't wait...one of my favorite meals

It seems funny, but we usually end up either talking about food or cping or both when the site acts up...wonder if it gets jealous of us?????? Hehehhe

Spiedies are meat, usually lamb but H uses chicken or portk, marinated in a special sauce and cooked on a stick on a barbeque. You eat them with a oversized slice of italian bread and put spiedie sauce on it (or italian dressing if you don't have the sauce) H is from the Binghamton, NY area where there is a large italian population and this meal is very popular there. H's grandfather was one of the men who created one of the special sauces used.

Should I be consistent and follow the rules of food and/or cping????

Your dinner sounds delish Mama! That would be one of my favorites as well. That's what I grew up on.

I think the kids are going to have mac and cheese now. I'm not really hungry at the moment anyway!

We keep ice cream in the freezer, and we have strawbeer short cake too...so its whatever we choose.

I see that I left out the words 'lets have about the spiedies...I'd really like to fix that.

I'll have to check to see if there is a receep. I know one of the italian restaurants there has their own sauce that they bottled. H might use that now. Grandfather's receep was lost when he died. He either had it hidden or in his head but nobody is sure. He used to put wine in it that he made from grapes that he grew himself. Nobody was ever able to duplicate the wine either.

Well, I'll have to leave for a bit to make sure the wee ones are eating. I'll check back when they're done.

Thats the old way...you just cook it from memory...too bad you couldn't document it...but good to pass the basic methods on to the younger ones.

Gail, The meat is in about 1 and 1/2 inch squares. The chicken isn't usually square. There is a website explaining the hisoty of the spiedie at, www. whatscookingamerica.net/History/Sandwiches/Spiedie.htm, but MIL says the site is not quite accurate. H is related to Iacovelli.

Wikipedia has a picture of it although it looks slightly smaller than what we have. Look under 'Spiedie.'

Thank you Stella, looked it up. Very interesting. very similar to what I make, but mine has a more greek or middle eastern influence in flavours. We use turkish bread or flat lebanese breads.

Hi, where is everybody? Sunday night here but it's Monday morning in Oz. People should be up and about and ready for a tea break.

I can't believe it is July already! Time really flies. It doesn't feel like July because it is so chilly. Last week we had the ac on and this week I'm going to have to shut the windows at night because it is too cold.

Having a very slow start today. Just about to go bathe the body bootiful! D#3 was up through the night being not a very well girl. So of course, it's Mum who looks like a wreck. Will go wash the sleep out of my eyes and return on and off whilst doing the dreaded usuals.
