30C is pretty warm for Spring. Perth sounds like it has beautiful weather for Spring! That would be a good summer temperature here.

It's raining and chilly here. Ohio has it's share of idiots. 3 counties had fires started yesterday, but were quickly put out.

Now that I've chased everyone off, it's time to get busy here. Hope you all have a good day.

For those who have asked, Daughter had moved back to her Dad's house. the air quality at Ian's house deterioated badly. Camp Pendelton fires and even the backfires they are using to contain them are really smokey. They are not in danger from the fires at this point.

Stella, having seen a blooming onion, your description made good sense to me heheh. may I try to add my 2 cents worth of discription?

Picture a pom pom chrysanthemum , you know, the big ones used for football coursages. then imagine a golden mum, made from an onion, that is where the " blooming" comes from. That is what they look like.

To make one, sit the onion firmly on cutting board on the flatter side, where the stem was attached. Cut gently if nescessary to help it sit flat, Now start at the pointy end, cutting down toward this base, but not through, turn slightly and cut again, continuing around the onion. then gently seperate the "petals" of the bloom, and dip it into the batter, regular fried onion type batter. Deep fry. when golden brown, remove and drain.

A pretty appetizer that is tasty, unfortunately LOADED with calories and fat.

Hi, Rena. Your photos are stunning. The fall color was fantastic, and the shot up the valley looked just as I had imagined it from Google Earth. Do Canadians always run roads straight up mountains? We kind of snake them around.

We had a beautiful day here. Almost summer temp. Hubby was working 20 kms away and said it was foggy and might as well have been raining.

It's pretty chilly here. Our high today was in the low 50's.

Ruby, I guess so. The road I live on used to be the main highway between Christina Lake and Rossland.

It feels cooler here now. Ladies, I appologise, buy I have to go. Lasic calls. Good night.

The wind's died down here. Last Friday it almost blew me into the next county.

that is good Becky, your wind dying down, lets hope the wind in California is doing the same.

The news said that the winds will die down tonight. They have started arson investigations already.

I put a link on easy that has all kinds of info about the fires on it.

When we had really bad fires a few years ago, one of the worst ones was caused by someone throwing away a lit cigarette.

We had a drought a few years back and had a few fires. Nothing like CA though. In our cars, we put pop cans with water in them for people's cigarettes.

A few fires were started in the southern part of Ohio. Put out quickly with no damage. Some people aren't very bright.

I have dinner in the crockpot ( Francois' Lamb Shanks - Jenni's receep), and it is smelling YUM, and making me hungry. so am off to have my lunch.
