We're getting the cooler weather you sent over, Rolanda. Just finished with the whipper snipper in the back yard. Washing is dry. I feel SO virtuous.

all. Back after making a little of myself. My sister and I sat around the table before the meal, telling jokes and laughing our heads off.

MORNING SUDOKULAND, Morning world.

A safe trip to and home from my sisters yesterday. There was more traffic than usual on the roads, everyone out and about it seems. LOTS of local police and state patrol of the freeway.

Food was wonderful. My great niece and 2 g-nephews helped make the day fun, it is lovely having the littles around. They live next door to my sister, next door but not in sight, woods and a bamboo thicket between. The children came running over ahead of parents and without a jacket! Heck, day before it was summer, they were not accustomed to getting coats to go out. Temps fell all day yesterday, and it was 45F / 7.2C when they came over, Grandma scolded them!

Usually we are so many at Thanksgiving that we eat buffet style, finding a seat where you can even outside on mild days, and on throw away paper dishes. But with only 9 , we were at the table, with linen cloth and the good china! Sister said, it has been sitting in cabinet for 45 years, it was about time to USE IT! AND these dishes have to be hand washed, old style silver trim that is NOT dishwasher safe. I felt sort of special!

Pleased to hear that you had a good Thanksgiving MizT and to have had the honour of using the BEST CHINA. Mine never come out of the display cabinet which is a shame because it was bought to be used. I may just use it for Christmas this year.

Temperature warmed up to a balmy 6F this afternoon, it was only 2F when I took my DH to the station at 10:30am. We are forecast to have temperatures of -4F
tonight even in the heart of London where it never gets that low.

Hi all, do you miss me? I miss you. I don't seem to have any time to spend here lately. School is going well for Amber. Guides and Brownies/Sparks are keeping us busy, too. The nights are cold and the days are chilly but still no snow on the ground. I hope you all are well and over your colds. Take care everyone.

SA3ers.
Glad to hear everyone's Thanksgiving went well.
Last night was the official end to D#2's schooling. It was their Valedictory Dinner night where they are all given certificates and the awards were given out. She didn't get any awards (which was no surprise to anyone) unless they give out an award for the best class clown! She did get a special mention in the Principal's speech, he started talking about all the amazing excuses he had heard over the year, then said due to my daughter he could have printed a book of them! She didn't even think he knew her name!!! We are so proud.

LOL Gail!!! It's a shame you don't have it on video tape to play to her children in years to come - your little retribution....

A friend of mine has travelled to PNG to be with her husband who is working there for a few months. She decided to go as her father has just passed away and she needed to get away for a while. Since she got there they have had a cyclone and an earthquake! Talk about bad Karma

A videa would have been a BRILL idea Suzy. I could play it every time she made some excuse or other but I'm afraid the tape would wear out too quickly.
As we all know, bad things come in threes, so hopefully, your friend's fortunes must surely turn her way soon.

hey Gail, my youngest had his high school graduation on Thursday night. They all wore graduation gowns in the school colours with a white scarf with the 'graduating class of 2007' on it which they got to keep. I thought that was a tad excessive but they all enjoyed it.At least they didn't have to save a clean shirt from the indelible pen marks after their final assembly as my other two had to do.

Mary, during the unofficial muck-up week (because it is frowned upon big time these days), she wore her school dress. They have a different uniform in VCE, the last two years of high, so I was very surprised that she still had it! It is now emblazoned with autographs and fond farewells, written in black marker! It has also been redesigned. Now it sports a VERY large split down the front that is closed up with safety pins and tied at the bottom! Just what every school girl wants, a fashionably torn school uniform!

Gail, maybe your daughter could write a collection of excuses and sell it to students. No doubt it would be a best seller.

Love hot weather, but not that hot. We had a heat wave here about 20 years ago. Stayed in the high 90's and 100's (32+ C)for almost 2 months. At the time we didn't have ac.

Good girls!
Don't be like hubby and I once, many years ago. We were watching TV in the evening and a News Flash came on announcing who had won the election. We just slowly turned to each other with a look of horror across our face...it had completely slipped our minds!!! What can I say, we were young and silly!
At a time of our lives when we could least afford it, we both got a $50 fine! Expensive lesson, well learned.
