We had rain again today, and a good bit of it. Fog this morning, too. The sun never came out and it felt chilly all day.

Ruby, done shopping, but still baking cookies and pumpkin bread.

I still need to pick up fresh veggies but everything has been shopped for.

We're supposed to get rain tomorrow. Our high today was around 60. I wish the weather would make up its mind. I'm not sure what to wear anymore.

What kind of cookies? I love cookies.

Chocolate peanut butter chip, butterscotch chip, gumdrop and spice balls cookies.

Today was the winter solstice, the shortest day of the year.

Can anyone lend me some baking? If there's any left, I'll return it after Christmas.

Your cookies sound delish. I'll take a dozen of each -- no need to wrap them.

I would if I could. My problem has been my get up and go. It seems to have got up and gone.

Other than the first kind, they're all my mother's recipes. I love the Swedish cookies she made, but they take a long time (chopping nuts, rolling into small balls, baking, then rolling in powdered sugar).

Home made cookies are particularly yummy.

I can remember her and I doing a marathon. We made almost 200 dozen cookies one year. Afterwards, I didn't want to look at another cookie for a long time.

I find it more fun to bake when there is someone to share the work. I'm hoping Amber will become more helpful in that regard. It still seems like more work when she "helps".

Why did you make so many cookies?

Before I forget, I want to wish every one here on SA3 a wonderful Christmas and healthy and happy new year.

We gave them to family and friends. It's kind of a tradition in my family. My sister and I still do it. I tried to get the SILs involved, but they think of their stove/oven as a piece of furniture.

She'll get better, Rena. Patience. She'll never be this young again.

Rena, maybe give her the simple, but time consuming jobs like chopping nuts.

I'll bet people appreciate your cookies, Becky.

She gets the ever popular decorating jobs.

Rena, when I was little, Mom would sit me at the table with a pair of scissors to cut up gumdrops and nuts while she mixed batter. Those are some of my favorite memories of Christmas.

I remember icing Christmas cookies with my brothers and sisters.

Getting closer to being ready Becky! Just got home from the shopping centre, stopped in at the stupormarket for some dinner things, got home and remembered I am having a guest over for lunch tomorrow but forgot to get anything!
Woe is me.

What about yourselves. All done and dusted?

What's in the pantry? Maybe we can come up with an idea to save you a trip.

Just going to grab some party pies and dips etc, nuffin flash.

Might make up some mini quiches, that's a thought.

Rena, sister is 10 years older and brother is 12. Both had jobs and were hardly at home. My sister and I have talked about getting together and baking.

Gail, how about a vegetable primavera? You can throw chicken in with it and make it into a main dish. Quick and easy.

Amber and I did the last of our present shopping today. She is filling gumball's and my stocking and I'm doing Dad's and hers.

Just a nibblies kinda lunch, more a drinkies really.

Don't tempt me. I got a couple of bottles of wine from World Market. Almost got some Tim Tams, but the price was over my limit ($3.99).
