I think it was called "plum pudding." You eat it with a creamy pudding sauce.

My brother makes a sausage quiche/casserole for breakfast crowds. He'll brown as much as 2lb. of sausage as if he were making spaghetti. Then he transfers it to a casserole dish, leaving as much fat behind as possible. (This elevates the dish to health-food status.) He covers the sausage with shredded cheddar and then pours in a very eggy (at least two eggs per person) milk and egg mixture which he has seasoned. More cheese and into the oven for about 30 mins. GBD.

It was very cold here this morning, close to 30F. The sun is shining now (noon) and it would be much warmer if the wind would die down.

Must go and pretend to fling food. (Don't actually fling food because hubby does the cooking!) Hubby called and said he has work to do at home so leftovers with some egg noodles and veggies.

June, I'm not that fond of macadamia nuts but hubby loves them. They are a bit expensive as well. Sounds interesting though!

Stella macadamias are expensive here too but you do not need a lot . It does not make the pudding taste like "macadamia" but just makes a different and nicer taste than the traditional "pud"

Rolanda, that certainly brought back memories of trying to pretend it was not 7am! Those were the days!
My kids are allowed to look in their stockings as well. Cinnabons and hot chocolate are usually first to hold us over til breakfast/brunch. We take turns opening the presents one by one! First thing hubby does when he gets up is to put on the Christmas music!

When I was a girl, on Dec 5th, before going to bed we would put out our shoes, sang Sintaklass songs, leave out the milk and biscuits.
In the morning our shoes was filled up with goodies from Sintaklass.
We still have to sing Sintaklass songs on the 5th Dec, including the boys, to my Mum, and she gives us Chocolate Letter.

I always told my kids they could have their stockings first thing but weren't allowed to wake me up. That always kept them busy until I got up. Michael used to hand out the presents but now it's Amber's job.

We spend lunchtime with husbands family and there tradition is to hand out the presents under the tree (about 14-16 people0 and no opens till all the presents are distributed and then everyone opens at the same time. I hate it. You put thought and effort into a gift and then you do not see the person even open it. We exchange our immediate family gifts before hand.

Gail, good luck with your shopping.
Our family present-opening is done one at a time with the youngest handing out the presents (sometimes with a little help!) Everyone has to wait till the present is opened. It can take a long time but is liberally catered for with nibbles and drinks, but you do get to see your gift being opened by the person you gave it to.

That was quite productive but by no means finished. Santa still has to make some stocking fillers. D#2 still has to decide and hubby, the hardest one to buy for, is still presentless. If he says dvd's or cd's one more time, why I'll.....!

MORNING SUDOLULAND! cofee is ready, tea and chocolate also available upon request.
Still enjoying having daughter #3 here for a visit, but much to early for anyone to be stiring in the guest house.
Now, guest house sounds much fancier ( is that a word? more fancy?) than reality, actually hubby's office in the shop with a blow up bed and half bath, but it is working for us.
