Good morning all! Just rushing about like a chicken with its head cut of trying to get things done! Cold this morning, 17F.
Yes Becky, we're supposed to get hit tonight through Monday. Depending how it shifts, we could get anywhere from 6 inches to 2 feet of snow! Which means, we'll have to go to church tonight as we may not be able to get there tomorrow and it looks like one of our planned shopping days is out the window as well. We'll be battening down the hatches and therefore getting the rest of the decorations done! I can't believe I'm so late this year!
Rolanda, I hope your dinner party went well and everyone had a good time visiting!
Well, off to do some stuff before heading out to the store and S#2's Christmas party for his soccer team. Have a great day!
Oh, and a joyful weekend!

everyone. Our snow came back. Now it looks like winter again. Christmas just doesn't feel the same without it. Hubby is done work for the winter. One more week of school, then we can take a break. Take care all.

Ruby, I live in the woods but it's in a development, so the plows come on our street. We do tend to get more snow than other areas and it stays longer. With all of the snow on the trees, it looks like a winter wonderland!

Mickey from Australia wished all the supporting members a Merry Christmas on their pages. She said there are too many free members to do it on their pages. I'm thinking of taking on the challenge when I have free time here and there. I did it for Thanksgiving along with a few other people, like Becky, and it took a long time. Maybe it will take the whole rest of the month! We'll see how it goes!

Hi, Everyone! I still can't get on the internet, so need to borrow a computer for a half hour here and there. It's good to "see" everyone here as we all try to get ready for upcoming festivities! I'm thinking of all of you, even though I can only drop by infrequently. Hope everyone stays well!

How easy is it to give away personal information. We have just changed Email addresses and I went to my home page on this site and accidentally scrolled the curser over the photo of our house and our address showed up. I had put our number and street name to the photo when I had filed it with my own home file and when I had transferred it to flickr the name had gone with it but did not show up when I just looked at the page. I have now removed the photo and will make sure I take more care in the future

Everybody.
First time I've popped in all week and and we were on page 205 on last visit.
Not surprised that there are a few more of us Mah Jhong players out there - the things we used to do before Sudoku!
is for you MizT - think you need it with your appliances. Hope you aren't without your sewing machine for too long. My machine was as good as broken when my mum was here because she slept in my sewing/spare room and you couldn't see my machine for all her junk. It was so good to sit down and sew again after she had gone - reunite with an old friend.

Look at the TIME!! Must fly - work to do before the Spicks & Specks Christmas show comes on.
Adam Hill and crew are on tour and we went to a live show on Thursday at the Comedy theatre. It was absolutely hilarious. Lots of audience participation and Myffs brother's band was the supporting act. highly recommend if you like that sort of thing and they are on near you. Believe they are off to Sydney next week. Check it out on ticketek.com.au Ciao for now...

Spicks and specks was great fun, hey Bean? For the curious, its an Aussie comedy/music show. And it seems taht Gail and vDv have not re-appeared after their Tooradin talk (and eat)-fest which I missed out on
But I am back home again withmy trusty laptop. Hope those of you in the northern part of the northern hemisphere are getting the beauty of snow without the ferocity of storms.

Good Morning Sudolukand! Coffee is on, come bring a chair up to the fire and have a cup!
Boy what a difference a day makes! yesterday was my Christmas gathering at my sister's house. We left home yesterday in short sleeves, at 9:30 am. sunny, geltle breeze, warm, up to 68 degrees a lovelyday! Well, untill about 3 oclock PM. Then right on cue, just as forecast, the rain came. The wind changed, blustery and blowey and from the North, and the temps started dropping. they have not stpopped yet! We came home and needed the heavy winter rain gear we had taken with us in the car, just to get the things into the house!
Out high for the day was at midnight, at 46, by the time I got up at 5, it was 42, and dropped to 39 within an hour! last repoet, over an hour old, says 37, and will drop all day! OUCH, wind chhill is below freezing, and I am soo glad I do not have to go out today! I shall make turkey soup (I brought home the turkey bones and most of the dark meat from out party yesterday) A very good day for a big pot of homemade turkey noodle soup in home made broth, YUMMY!
GAIL, we are missing you, sweetie. Hope you are back amoungst us soonest.
Rolanda, sounds like a great trip down the river and did you enjoy the BBQ feast? Enjpoy being a guest for drinkies , you deserve that after your marathon cleaning and cooking for your party!

Good morning all! It's cold, 17F, but the snow turned to freezing rain in the middle of the night despite the cold temps. Looks like only about 5 inches of snow. The rain is really packing it down.
MizT, glad you had a nice Christmas celebration with your family. Sorry we sent down the cold temps. I think it's harder for people in the south to deal with the cold than those up here, becuase your blood is not acclimated to the cold temps and we're used to it. On Friday it got up to 32F/0C and I saw a guy wearing a t-shirt and shorts. It did feel kind of warm! I was hot in my coat and D#2 didn't even wear a coat!
Julie, I hope your internet gets fixed soon. We miss you!
June, I've noticed hidden messages on the flickr pics. I haven't been using flickr much. You probably have nothing to worry about.
Bean, nice to see you stop by. That show sounds like it was a lot of fun!
Rolanda, hopefully your weather will brighten in time for Christmas!
Gail and vDV, let us know how it went! I'm sure you had a blast!
Well, off to get some breakfast and then some stuff done.
Have a wonderful day!

"Max" just came in and said he measured the snow with a ruler and it is 14 inches of snow. It doesn't look like 14 inches of snow though, although hubby is having a hard time getting through it with the snow blower!

Stella, sounds like you have more snow than me. We have about three inches. It doesn't seem like much for where we are, but it is enough for Amber to sled and snowboard. One of the nice things about our property, built-in snowboarding facilities.
June, enjoy that faster internet, and I'm sure you won't miss dial up at all.

Christmas dinner #1 cooked and eaten heheheh, Daughter #3 and fiancee will be over sometime late tonight to stay a few days and to have Christmas #2 with us. I think we will have non traditional foods, since we both have a Christmas dinner #3 in our future! Now I do have a few leftovers from yesterday, lots of turkey , might need to make some more dressing, have to have leftovers. My refrigerator is groaning.

Snowing again. Hubby said it looked more like 8 inches before. Maybe with the previous snowfall, it totaled 14. They're outside in the dark making snow angels! I don't know why they didn't go out when it was light out!

Question for all of you: Do you have turkey and dressing ( stuffing) and if so what kind? If not, what is your christmas Menu?
Yesterday we had:
Turkey and cornbread/sage dressing with turkey gravey. Ham, 4 (yes that is FOUR) kinds of cranberry sauce/relish, Sweet potato casserole, Green bean casserole, Baby Lima beans, Cole slaw,
Mexican Mac and Cheese casserole, hawaiian rolls, whole wheat rolls and brown and serve rolls
The snack table had:
A veggie and dip tray, Cheese ball and crackers, 3 kinds of Humus and fat free crackers
the desert table groaned with: Rice crispy treats, fruit cake cookies, sugar cookies cut in shapes and iced, peanut butter cookies, a key lime pie( low fat and low sugar) Deep dish cherry pie, Pecan pie, and a chocolate cream cheese iced red velvet Birthday caake for one niece whole birthday is today! Candy dishes had dark chocolate kisses, and My late Mom's special candy dish she always kept by her chair to offer Hershey's mixed minie bars plus the box dark chocolate chocolate covered cherries Mom always received as a gift from My Dad. After Dad died, for over 20 years, Mom still got that box of cherries every year> so the cherries arrive each year, keeping Mom in our " Mema's Christmas" gathering.
Is there something you do to keep an absent loved one in your thoughts and celebrations during the holidays?

I like turkey, but ham is much less work. The past couple of years we have had ham with mashed potatoes, corn, brocoli, carrots, cranberry relish, pineapple slices and rolls. Hubby makes belgium waffles for breakfast, either chocolate or vanilla, with cherries/strawberries and whipped cream.
