When does your hubby start his new job, Becky?

Well, look at that. We have a new page!

He starts on the 11th. He gave his notice yesterday and said that he felt like a weight had been lifted. I'm happy for him.

Hi Rena. Did you get that storm that hit us?

We have had some snow but no storm.

Right now we're getting 60 mph gusts and downpours. Tomorrow it's supposed to snow. Don't mind the rain and snow, but the wind is howling.

How are the temperatures, Rena? We dropped from about 51 today down to about 1 or 2 tonight. We've had some snow, but the WIND is what's terrible.

Becky, do you have the same thing?

Becky, I think we were typing at the same time. So I see we're sharing the wind.

Julie, sounds like it. We have a 100 ft. maple in our back yard and every time we get high winds, I expect the worse. Mom always did call me a worry wart.

Our temps have been around -10°c/14°f, a little warmer the last few days. It will probably stay like that for a while.

Busy helping to organise a birthday party on the weekend. Feeling old as my "baby" turns 40 tomorrow!!!
Was going to make a birthday cake but a bit hot to do too much cooking so ordered one from the local baker.

We have a huge fir tree right beside our house that usually loses a limb or two in the winter. I worry that one will go through the mud room roof one day.

June, I'll trade weather with you. Tired of being in stuffy houses. I want to have my windows open to get the stale air out.

Rena, our tree is within 10 ft. of our bedroom. At least the wind is blowing in the opposite direction tonight.

Our forecast for the next week is snow every day except Sunday.

Becky, would you like my hubby to come take a look at it? He'd probably cut it down, too.

We've been thinking about doing that, but hubby is putting it off. We only have 3 trees. The maple and 2 redbuds. The redbuds on their last leg. Each year we cut out more deadwood and are beginning to look a little sad.

It is a bit dark outside so hope we get some rain and save me watering the garden. Still on restricions and can only water Wednesdays and Sundays during specific times.
