Ruby, we can't help but love how diplomatic you are, suggesting to MizTricia that it might be wise to call in an electrician!

I'm still here. Just trying to order some school work for the chicklet. Firefox is telling me the site timed out. Had to give up and close it.

Dino posted on easy a couple of days ago, that she will be in California for most of Feb. Not sure why, but I think it might be meeting of senior Buddhist teachers.

I think I'm back now. Stupid site won't let me change my shipping address. My friend in the states is going to order it for me. If I order it, it costs $115 just for delivery.

Hi, Gail, Julie, Rena and Rolanda.
Much better, Rolanda, thanks.
Rena, how far are you from the US border? $115 is high for shipping.
Gail, I missed that post. I do the puzzles at about 10:00, (two hours after changeover) and I often don't go back and finish reading all the posts. How far along are you in HP book 7?

Ruby, it doesn't matter how far I am from the border. It's because it has to be shipped across the border. They use an international shipping company. If my friend orders it, I can pick it up from her and claim it when I come back to Canada. She is about a half hour drive from me.

I realized that you would be charged the shipping if you lived one foot into Canada. I just wondered how far it is. Shipping charges are largely a rip-off anyway.

I'm not far over the border. From my house to the border it's probably less than a mile.

Hi, vdV.
Yes Ruby, I'll probably have to pay the Canadian taxes(PST 7% and GST 5%) which will be a lot less than the $115 shipping would be. I'm not sure about duty, probably not.

I imagine those taxes were included in the shipping charges. Otherwise Canada wouldn't allow delivery. Do you go through a gate or something when you cross into the US?

We go past the drive-thru. At least that what it looks like. Maybe I should order a Big Mac nest time. We are allowed to bring back a certain dollar amount without paying on it. I don't remember the amount. The taxes were included in the shipping cost but it is a lot to pay. After I got the first stuff, I got a notice of the taxes that were paid. At least it wasn't a bill.

Hi Gail,
I read the first HP book, enjoyed it but did not feel the need to keep reading.
Just saw your comment re Laura. To see her you would think she is fine and she has put on some weight. Some of her favourite foods are ones that may not be the best but at that age a few chips and some lemonade when everyone else has it is hard. (not that she has them much)
I tend to do the puzzles either at midnight or very early next morning and just lurk through the comments during the day.

June, I have been finding myself on here later and later. A couple of nights ago, I went in the chatroom at about 9pm and left it sometime after midnight! Can't believe I had anything that important to say!

Gail I find this site interesting when I look at what the different people get from the site. I do the puzzles first and look at the photo that appear. I have submitted a about 1/2 dozen and have seen one on Kids and one on jigsaws.
Others chat first, some like to chat a lot, others make occasional comments.
It all does become Addictive with a capital A

I used to get more involved on the easy page but not so interested in participation there anymore, just like reading it.
It was the SA page that truly got me hooked.
