well, I got a TOPPs but no CP again heheheh
he calls them a UPS, uninterupted power source. He just said he needs to buy one for the other computers but they do have surge protectors. My phone line even goes through the surge protector!

My hook-up is through CAT-5 cable. It feeds through the same as his does. I still unplug everything if I think the storm is going to be bad. Hubby tells me I'm a worry wart.

When we first got our DSL, it would go out at the drop of a hat. I spent so much time on the phone with SBC.

We once had surge protectors that guaranteed a power surge could not get through them. We put them on office equiptment we sold. Also had one on our accoutatns copy machine. Power surge got both, left big black holes in boards. they replaced the copy machine ( big office kind , expensive) and the computer. No questions. NOW you cannot find one with a guarantee like that.

Ours still does that, one reason i turned off the computers, I was loosing DSL before the storm got here. I could hear thunder in the distance, but not close at that time.

My yard also flooded, the ditch at edge of th e road overflowed, could not carry it all. LOTS of water, very short time. it was like a big wide shallow river out there!
Too much excitement for me. I like my life in the show lane

Hubby thought about building one, but decided he didn't really want one. Our BIL built one for his son and it only got used a couple of times. He harvested the parts off of it as his other ones broke. I think he now has 7 desktops and 2 or 3 laptops. His job is in computer security and uses them to "attack" the computers at work.

Let mother nature do the work for you, if you can. We have traps on our downspouts that I check when I hear that we are to get a rain. Haven't done that too much this summer.

Traps? for leaves and such?
I just lost another post. I have figured what is a common occurance when a lot of my posts will not go through! I use the little greater than and less than symbols with a G between, for a typed emotican, means big grin. I have used these in chats and on boards and such forever, comes automatically off my fingers. WELL lately any time I gut in my big grin, my post does not go thrugh, I get a whihte screen that ists there , and I hve to back out and come in again!

Sometimes I have trouble with being signed off while typing a post. Go to send it and everything goes white. Don't want to go to the light just yet.

She is fine Becky, she was over last night, picking up Robert and we had a bit of a chat.
actually she is coming over here again this evening, but they are not going out, staying in, and I believe she is staying the night (on the spare bed).
... all I have been told is that they are 'good friends' !!!

Was just wondering. MizT was saying in her last post that she was having problems here.
They could be. When we were dating, I told hubby that I wanted him to meet some of my friends from back home. I took him out and introduced him to about 5 guys playing poker and drinking beer. I knew he didn't want to sit around with the girls. They treated him like one of the gang.

The peach cake is a little sweet, so you might want to taste it before you glaze it. I was satisfied with it plain, but had to put it on hubby's piece. Tomorrow I'm going to try making peach cheesecake.

Toyotas are good cars from what I've heard. That's a good idea, going when they are closed. We can't do that around here. All the car lots are open everyday. We took our oldest car the last time we looked. The salesmen stayed away, guess we looked too poor for them.

The Citrus Peach Cheesecake sounds interesting. Wouldn't have thought of mixing citrus with peaches. If you try it, let me know how it turns out. I love peaches.

I thought there was a lot of sugar in the recipe too. Figured that the next time I made it, would cut it down to 1 c. or 1 1/4 c. It's more like coffee cake than a regular cake.
