So how is the car Stella.
Robert's friend was involved in a accident on Tuesday morning on her way to work. S
he is fine, apart from sore necks, arms, etc. The car is a write off!.
Cars in front of her stopped suddenly, she stopped, and the Semi Trailer behind, was slow to realise that traffic had come to a standstill.
he jammed his brakes on and hit her car in back.

Mary, sleep with a heating pad under your shoulder. This may help. (not too hot, second lowest setting is what I use)

Oh no Rolanda, I know what that is like. At least she was not seriously injured with a semi hitting her. That could have been nasty!
We picked up the car this morning and so far so good. Just one little touch up on the door.

Hubby sent D#1 a picture of the car to show her that it looked perfect like before. It should ease her mind now that we have it back good as new!

D#2 is trying to set up an Instant Message account for me so that I can talk with her at school. Right now AIM is not processing things so she has to wait.

Here is a question that I don't understand why it is in the calendar. I must be missing something because I only see the right answer as the obvious answer.

If a bottle with a deposit costs $1.10, and the bottle costs a dollar more that the deposit, how much is the bottle worth?

$1 is the obvious answer. but as you are paying $1.10 for it, I guess it is worth $1.10

Maybe it is because we have deposit bottles here and the deposit is always $.05, so I automatically thought the bottle was worth $1.05, which would make it $1 more than the deposit and which is the correct answer. I couldn't see any other way to look at the question. In parenthesis it says that "no, it is not worth $1.10."

The bottle is worth ten cents. The contents were worth a dollar.

Actually, the bottle is probably worth more than ten cents. That's just what they charge to get you to return it. The contents' component parts were probably inexpensive, but, with shipping and advertising included, you have profit margins for the manufacturer, distributor, wholesaler and retailer.

A bad storm went through this evening and the news said people to the south(20 miles) of us are without power. We had rain and thunder/lightning, but I don't think there were any high winds like they had. Our next door neighbors started putting a new roof on today!

WE had a really big storm and a lot of lightening. It hit VERY close twice. After about an hour of storm like that, continious lightening nd thunder, it stopped as suddenly as it started. I found out what it hit! Our DSL lines for the network on the computer! Came in, got my somekind of card, one for the network, and it also got the wire somewhere between mine and Al's at other end of the house. Of course it is dark and he cannot see, but he got my computer back up and online , that is one out of three. Also got into a computer he was building. and YES, we do have surge protectors on all 3 machines!

luckily hubby keeps extra of whatever card that is, and it is not expensive, or i would still be here with no computer. Bad enough to be without computers ( I had turned the house ones off) and TV, ( rain fade on the signal) and AC for that hour +. If i was out of a couputer over night, well, You know you are a sudokuaholic when . . . You work puzzles on paper by candle light when the computer is down.

It must have been a heck of a hit. The router and modem should have given you protection. As for the power, tell hubby to get a battery back-up.
