Thanks Rola! I always thought my mom called it that because of the minced(dried)onions she put in it, but nobody here heard of it or knew what I was talking about. Of course, we didn't have the net then to look things up!

It's amazing on how much we rely on technology now. We couldn't do without a computer or cell phone.

My mom just called it burger and taters or burger and rice. I make it about once a year. Hubby doesn't care for it, so have to make something different for him.

Didn't realize we were coming up to a new page. I'm tired and my computer is not coming back up! It's driving hubby crazy. Maybe it's time I retreat!

Hubby's a programmer and we still don't have a cell phone. He refuses. He doesn't like talking on phones and says that they'll have to drag him kicking and screaming into a phone store.

I have a mobile phone (cell phone), but rarely use it. Occasionally, hubby & I send text messages to each other about what to buy at the shops etc. I could do without it but I like to have it with me, kind of like a little bit of security

Becky, cell phone is so much more useful than land line, plus no telemarketing calls! It's also VERY useful in case of emergency - locked cars, stranded kids and accidents witnessed(many times).

Since I don't travel out of town alone anymore, we decided we really didn't need one. He does carry a pager.

I use our answering machine to screen calls. It's kind of funny. If I leave the house and a family member calls, the first part of their message is 'Becky? Becky, are you there? Well...'

Looks like it was quite overnight. I caught up with the messages already this morning. Were a couple things I was going to reply , and now can only remember one.

We have a cell phone. We can not use it at home, must drive about 5 miles north or almost 10 south before we can pick up a signal! I told ya, we are really in a rural and lost little section of the world. SO, we take the phone if we are going in the car, and since we rarely go our seperate ways by auto, one cell phone works well for us. We do the prepaid phone cards, cause sometimes we might use a lot, if Al is working on a job away from home. Again we might not use it for weeks, so this works best for us.

Cell Phone funny:
Many years ago, before we moved to the country, Al kept a cell phone for business. We were together comming home from the office and saw a minor one car auto accident caused by an inebriated driver who ran off the road. Said driver was trying to get back into his auto and drive away. the citizen that had stopped to see if he was injured was asking someone to phone police, the man was a danger to himself and others if he got back on the road. so Al called 911, and after his report, they wanted to know what number he was calling from ( before enhanced 911 I suppose). He looked at me and said, What is this phone number? and the dispatcher heard him, so he had to explaine. 'I never call myslef on this mobile phone, but my wife is always phoning me, so she knows it' heheheh.

RAIN, we have RAIN, not a drought buster, but every little bit will help! for us a nice slow rain that is sinking in and will do the plants good, not the deluge forcast with possible flash flooding. YEAH for RAIN, and cooler temps and sitting on the porch to watch it rain heheheh.
