Woo Hoo Mary, it really is the psychological boosts isn't it. I'm seeing numbers on my scales I haven't seen in over 12 months and I'm loving it.
Unfortunately the easter distractions are still sitting in the middle of the family room table. I haven't been near them since the caramel egg.

Get rid of them Vicki....donate them to some poor orphan children
or failing that, the next person to enter the house!!!

I would Mary, except all my boys would complain. They are doing a damn fine job of getting rid of them themselves. There are bits of coloured foil all over the house. Hubby even takes them on walks when we take the dog out.
My niece and her partner are coming today so they might be the lucky recipients of the two lindt bunnies sitting in the bowl.
After that there is still three bags of mini eggs in the cupboard to be disposed of!

Shock, horror!!! One of the lindt bunnies has disappeared. At first, I thought it was the midnight stalker out for his usual midnight feast (#1 son), but no, I was wrong. It would appear that the apprentice (#2 son) has taken it to work to supplement his midday feast.
Only 1 bunny and a few eggs left now (except there is still the 3 bags of mini eggs in the pantry).
You'll be pleased to know that I didn't buy as many eggs this year. Do you think I should
them from the house next year?
I still haven't had any more eggs and my scales are still on a downward trend. What a shame we have weekends when my diet goes all to hell. I have no willpower when my time is my own.

Hi everyone - good going with all your losses, especially over Easter! Haven't been to the gym for a while. We decided to go for a long walk in the park on Easter Monday, and as we were heading back to the car I slipped, ripped my knee up and twisted my ankle badly - so I'm hobbling around, feeling miserable and getting no exercise done! Somewhat frustrating!

Judy, it sounds like it is safer in the gym than in the park. You poor thing, I feel very sorry for you. Here's hoping for a speedy recovery.

Thanks Mary and Victoria, feeling a lot better now. We went back to the gym today, though I took it fairly easy. Tomorrow is the Sudoku get-together for Keith, so I don't think I'll be losing any weight, though I have baked a low-fat cake! Hope it works ok - if you mix it too much it gets tough... Fingers crossed! :)

Gail, it was the Hummingbird Cake from one of the "Symply Too Good To Be True" cookbooks by Annette Sym. Love those books, though I haven't been using them too much lately - I've been pretty slack, time to pull my socks up! Rob uses those books whenever he cooks.

Weigh in last night and I've lost another 1.1kg. I still haven't gotten into the exercising part very well. If it doesn't rain the dog will get a walk after work today.

Well done Victoria, that's fantastic!
We're planning on going to the gym again tonight - Rob puts me to shame there, he works so hard! He says he hasn't lost any weight, but I'm sure he looks thinner. Wish I could say the same about myself, but I'll persevere - I've paid my money, now I have to make it worth while!

Judy, you will be getting toned even if you don't appear to be losing weight. Eventually all your clothes will fit differently too. Keep up the good work - I'm sure the effort will pay off.
Hubby finished the last of the easter eggs on the weekend. He was sitting opposite me eating a lindt bunny. I could smell it and really thought about taking a piece. I used my will power and moved away from him until it was all gone. Mind you, I had already had a pig out on pizza and drunk my share of wine last weekend.
I'm not quite sure how I managed to lose the weight.

Victoria, it doesn't matter how - you must be doing something right!
Heck Mary, it has to happen some time ... doesn't it? Well, I've finished the last of my Easter goodies, so we'll see what happens now.
When I was "seriously" trying to lose weight, some years ago, I used to write done everything I ate and drank, work out all the values, how much exercise, etc. It really worked, too. I guess I should just get back to it ...

Have you tasted the Lindemans Early Harvest wines. They are 25% less alcohol and 25% less calories. I had the Semillon Sauvignon Blanc the other night - quite nice even though it seems a bit watered down - but I got over that impression quite quickly. They also have a crisp dry white, sparkling and a rose.
I think I'll stick with these while I'm trying to lose weight. I'm very keen to try out the sparkling and if I can find a bottle will give it a go this weekend.

This weeks weighin - absolutely no change, neither up nor down. Perhaps it was the can of diet coke I drank on the way there. Oh well, at least there was no gain. My scales at home are telling me I've lost a bit and my clothes are a bit looser, so my gut feeling is the weight is still on the way down.
Time to get the joggers on and hit the pavement.
I'm a bit worried though. Weighin next week will be on Monday morning (we have labour day weekend in Qld) and I'm going to Broni's on Sunday for lunch to meet Keith and Lynne. I'll have to be really good this week and eat sensibly.

Mary you have to give up this stuffing yourself for 2 days and not eating for 5! Try reversing it and I'm sure you'll find those scales. Actually if you stuff yourself for 5 days you might want to hide those scales.
On that note, we had pizza last night (hubby's choice)
and my scales didn't look so good this morning
.
I think I might do some serious walking on Saturday
before the big bbq with Keith and Lynne on Sunday.

Weigh in yesterday and lost .6kg. I'm not complaining since I had been at Broni's on Sunday, we had pizza last Tuesday, out to belatedly celebrate our anniversary on Thursday, Chinese on Friday night. I won't even talk about the number of bottles of wine that disappeared last week. I'm with Rolanda, if I ate with chopsticks I'd be at my goal weight by the end of May (if not sooner).

I think I'll try harder to be better this week. Maybe cut back on the alcohol (or maybe not - that might depend on the week ahead). Of course with Mothers day this weekend I have at least two lunches out. One with my mum and one with my MIL.
I just have to learn to have the low fat option and definitely watch the portion size.
