Finally lost a kilo! All these weeks of going to the gym and no change on the scales, now - 1 kilo! Yippeee!
My scales have a "body fat" measure - it goes up and down (mainly up) so much that I've given up worrying about it. But my clothes are definitely feeling looser - let the plummeting begin! :D

I put on .1kg this week. OK I'm getting serious now. I only have to survive my MIL's 85th birthday tomorrow and the visitors that are arriving to celebrate. That should be a piece of cake (or maybe even two!).
I probably should be out walking instead of sitting at the computer.
Judy congratulations on your kilo. All that hard work is paying off.

OK I think I'm the only one here but I'll keep going. I lost .7kg this week. I'm pretty happy about that as we had visitors from Wednesday to help celebrate MIL's 85th birthday. There were dinners out, pizza, bbqs, lots of wine, fun and laughter. All in all a very good week. I just tried to eat well when we went out and not too much of anything.
It's raining here this week so the walking will be put on the back burner until the sun comes out.
To all of you watching your weight and trying to get fit - Have a very successful week!!!

Great work folks! I think I've lost a tiny bit of weight, but the Body Fat indicator on my scales has dropped for the first time! Still not happy when I look in a mirror, but slowly, slowly ... Everybody chant, "We CAN do this ! We can do this!" :D

No change again on the scales - neither up nor down. I'm still seeing numbers on my scales that indicate I'm losing weight but when it comes to Monday weigh in it all seems to have disappeared.
Oh well. Slow and steady is my motto. I'm not in this for a short term but for my life time - health and happiness are the benefits I'll enjoy.

Judy, great news on your exercise results. I'm sure your clothes are feeling different on you as well.

I like your idea Mary but unfortunately there is no WW meeting near me on Fridays. I used to attend a Thursday evening group which was a good day. Maybe I should find a Saturday morning group but I always seem to have too much to do on my weekends.

OOhh Ladies, had a plummet!!!! I'd decided I needed a vegie boost to get a good start to beating winter colds so had 2 meals (in 4 days)of stir fried vegies with a commercial vinegarette-style dressing. No noodles, no rice, bit of meat one day, ate lots....and the scales are telling wonderful news!!!

I know, Victoria! It seems to take weeks of work to lose just a little bit, and only one or two nice dinners to put it ALL back on! :(

At least I lost weight this week - .4kg is better than nothing. A total loss of 4.5kg in 9-10 weeks. My clothes are looser (especially the ones that were tight before) and some of my jeans etc with inbuilt stretch are becoming too big! It's lovely not having to breathe in to do your pants up. I think another couple of kilos and I'll be shopping for new clothes. Thank goodness for DFO. There are 2 of their factory outlets within half an hour of home (one is quite near work).
Have a great week everyone. I'm off on holidays on Friday and will miss 2 weigh-ins at WW. I'll just have to walk a lot while I'm away.

Hello everyone - I should be asleep, but just discovered this special page! I had been gaining weight for ages for a number of reasons - one of those reasons was that I gave up smoking, but more on that later.

I was close to 90 kgs and hated looking at my reflection - I started to refuse all the chocs around Chrissy, and really got serious a few months back. Have dropped 15 kgs and over the moon. My secret - no butter (and I love it), lots of salads, fruit and veg. Lean meat once a day and boiled potatoes, (not chips) or just baked in the oven with other vegies with a tiny bit of oil.

Gave up my scotch and coke, and now only drink white wine......cheers!

Re the smoking thing - it will be 3 years 18 Oct next without one puff, and that also makes me proud.

For over 40 years, I lit up every waking moment, and it wasn't doing me any good, but we all make excuses for our addictions! Be happy to help if anyone needs it.

Hi Jude, nice to see you joining us. Well done on giving up smoking.
Well it was weighin time last night at WW. I've put on .1kg (woo hoo!!) in 2 weeks. I'm ok with that as I have now moved on to wearing winter clothes for my weighin and I figure it is probably the weight of my shoes.
Not too bad as all we've done for the last 2 weeks is pig out - lots of wine, chocolate, more wine and then even another glass of 2 of wine. (Do I hear a recurring story here?)
Anyway, now I'm back at work and back to watching my weight (hopefully going down).

Victoria - well done, that's quite an achievement after hols. I'm sure that the wine would have helped tremendously in cancelling out the effects of the chocolate!!! Way to go (with the wine that is.....

ewww, poor Gail, perhaps a judicious rearrangement of priorities is in order? Or perhaps the anticipation of a smidgen of reward at a designated end?

Gail, I'm sure there must be other ways to lose weight than give up bubbly. That's terrible.
Speaking of weight, that's another .3 gone this week. 12 weeks and I still haven't managed to lose 5kg yet. Slow and steady, that's my motto.
Have a great and healthy week all of you (and Gail I would reconsider the bubbly!)

Remember that .3kg I lost last week, well, I found it again. No change from two weeks ago. Ho hum, I wonder if the problem was caused by hubby and I eating cheese and biccies and drinking wine on the deck both Saturday and Sunday evenings.
OK, I think it's time I nearly joined Gail and gave up the alcohol (except for this Saturday when I'm going to a champagne party and the following Saturday when I'm going out with some "old" school friends)
I have to go for a blood test later in July/early August before I go back to see my liver specialist so the alcohol will be severely curtailed from now on.

OK it's just me here but I told you I was in for the long haul. Woo Hoo!! I've finally (after 14 weeks) managed to lose 5kg.
Perhaps it was drinking the low alcohol champagne on the weekend (or standing outside away from the nibblies). Anyway, I'm a very happy little camper this morning.
Now for the next 5kg.

Nah, no success on the alcohol front. I have booked my specialist visit for late August and need to have a blood test done before that. This Saturday I'm having lunch with some friends followed by dinner with my SIL and niece. I don't think that is going to help the alcohol reduction either but after that I think I'll belatedly start Dry July followed by Alcohol-free August.

Hey Gail, you asked for support! Short of sending you an outmoded piece of underwear, I thought a rousing cheer-leading chant complete with mental imagery of pompoms would do the trick! I do admit the...um... poetic qualities are somewhat awol, but it WAS very early....
