Sorry Liz, was off reading pages and getting caught up again.
Any word from Nola?
GannieMo is currently living in a caravan while waiting to move into their new old house. She said she would be offline for a while.

Hey RolaDahlia, aren't you lucky your boys didn't pay you back (like mine did) when you wanted help with your algebra 'homework'. hehe I typed up the kids' assignments when they were younger, before they were taught to touch type. The way I saw it, having them type with 2 fingers only set bad habits. I bought some typing tutor programs for the pooter plus they did the same ones at high school. Once they could touch type, they typed their own. I kept in all their spelling, grammar, punctuation and sentence construction errors for them to fix.

Back to the Christmas Tree
Viv, I used to put the tree up the Monday after School finished for the year, with the boys helping of course !!
Last year, it almost didnt go up, #1 boy did it in the end, with minimal decorations.
We celebrated Christmas at Hubby's brother's place last year.

The boys did handwriting homework in Primary School, when at High School, they did typed Homework! They learned very quickly where the letters are on the keyboard.

Whether they touch type to the same level as I do is another thing, but they are very fast now, and accurate.
I leant touch typing at High School, 1st year High to 3rd year High.

Mine were required to type some of their assignments at primary school, especially the younger two. I did typing at high school two (one of the few skills I still use). Those old machines that dinged near the end of the line then you had to return the carriage, but I remember some electric ones in Year 10..oh and that horrible carbon paper! How much easier it is today!

I must send you Son #1's response. It was different (I think) to your boys' - all Greek to me - but got the same answer. The charming boy waited till I told him I had the answer before I sent it. Just wait until he runs out of money!!!! Keeping a kid in uni when they have to live away from home takes a big chunk out of our income.

Hey Sneeky Susan
Thanks for posting that story re; aid to Ethiopia.......
its a worry that when we aid a country
that we can make their situation even worse
hopefully they will fix the problem
but not sure how..............

Dizzy Lyrical Lizzy, it really distresses me when I see those heartbreaking pictures of starving people especially children. I try to help a bit - involved with a group that is setting up little villages in Uganda where women 'foster' 8 orphans each and they have animals, high yield seeds, fertiliser etc provided, to work towards self sufficiency. I stop now. Probably not the type of comments for these pages.

Finally caught up and have forgot everything I was going to say.
Sneaky, what a great idea but also reckon we should apply the same theory to those who bludge on the dole. (Opps, hope I am not out of line?)
