I'm glad your son is okay RolaDahlia! I have already started telling mine the best way to not be late is to leave early, the guaranteed sure way to not get an expensive parking/speeding ticket is to park legally and not speed etc etc etc. The whole time I do it I think I'm wasting my time because as soon as they get to driving age they will know MUCH better than their dumb mother anyway.

Just noticed there is a message from the school on my mobile. I must have been off doing unmentionable things in the wet room... Just reread that! I have to swear to clear things up - I was cleaning it!

d2 has forgotton her cornet again. Just as well I was planning to visit my friend across the road from the school about the time she'll need it anyway! Don't think I'll mention that though, I'll let her feel guilty....

Lachie arrived from school with the news that an emergency Yr12 assembly was called today.
Apparently ALL Yr 12 students at Xavier were suspended today. They got a bit carried away with their end of year 'muck up day'....One kid ended up with 2 broken legs apparently. All of Lachies year have been advised to avoid Glenferrie Rd [where they congregate].

One year when Lachie was still at Trinity, [school next door to Xavier],4 years ago his school organised buses to ferry Trinity students to the train stations so they could avoid Glenferrie Rd. Extreme behaviour isn’t unheard of in this elite RC private school. I suspect there are a few ‘annoyed’ parents out there…...

Liz the frightening thing is that these little darlings will be some of the 'influential' voting members of the next generation.... Heaven help us all!

Yes...that was last year.

It is hard to say...this has been brewing for a few years...we live in this belt of obviously 'effluent' affluent schools. None of the other private schools around here carry on like that...sure, kids will be kids but they don't go to these extremes. Most of the kids don't live in the area and so they don't care about 'egging' or vandalising the property of those of us that do live in this area. We aren't all rich 'bastards' that can afford to repair their damage.

Each year their behaviour is more extreme than the last and little seems to be done about it. Their bullying etc isn't just at this time of the year either...
