We tried 3 times to get him to give us an estimate! Oh for the CA days of 'no work without telling you the price first', then we at least could have been prepared....

SUZY, OH MY, I would choke if I got that bill for brake repair! Al does ours, so we only have to buy parts, and we got those at a discount. I know last time his daughter visited us, she asked if he could do her brakes while they were here, now I know why!

My car is still under warranty until January for mechanical but has a 10 year warranty on the Hybrid motor - thank goodness!!!

Apparently my breed of car was made badly. They have since changed the design, but in our model the bearings have to be removed to get to the discs, so that was added cost. Wish we knew this stuff when we bought it!

Yes, Suzy, or the company should be made to recall those cars and repair them under warranty!!

The people who bought our truck blew up the motor 3 weeks after taking over. Wasn't their fault, it was a design fault in the truck and has been happening to that model all the time (we didn't know that - so it could have happened to us!!!) - BUT he fought with them about it because the truck was out of warranty. It ended up costing him $5K instead of $30K. So it was worth standing his ground.

That was a good fight - saving $25,000!

I know how you feel - had them for years and years - every few weeks. They've eased off as I get older and I can control them better and don't suffer as much nausea. (TMI - sorry!)
