Glad Mamacita is so excited with the Phillies win. We had mixed feelings as Grant Balfour who plays for Tampa Bay used to play for our club and has played in the same team as our son (before grant went to US.) We also know Grant's parents.

I had trouble with the site earlier, got timed out, but then my student showed up so it didn't matter. Got in first try this time..

I splurged tonight! Promised myself I wouldn't this week after getting the brakes bill this morning, but I couldn't resist - I found American pumpkins!!! Coles had about 8 of them and we picked out the best one. Why is a pumpkin a splurge you ask - because it was $18.98.... 5kg, about 12 lb. Jackolantern in this house tomorrow!!!

Nah! Not 4 hours Susan. Cut the top off, scoop the guts out, tape a pattern to the front, transfer the pattern to the pumpkin by poking holes along the lines, cut along the lines, put a candle in it, put the top back on, done! It probably helps that we have purpose designed little saw blades and things from when we lived in the States..

I have the sound back on my pooter. Sharon had turned it off!!!!

Hello again everyone - have been AWOL for hours because my puppy - yes that cute little thing, chewed through my internet connection cord. I've been telling hubby to do it properly, not just have the cord on the floor!! Now he's fixed it temporarily but has promised to do it properly on the weekend!

Where is Brenda? Haven't seen her about lately.

Visit to Mum went well. She was cheerful and I took her for a (slow) walk around the grounds, something she never does herself any more even though she was always a keen walker - and fast, I spent my life running to catch up with Mum!
Yes Susan, I always wait until lunch. I go up between 10 & 11 AM, lunch is at 12. I wait until she gets dessert because she loves her pudding and lets me go cheerfully once she's got that and a cup of tea in front of her. She seldom even looks up to wave goodbye. Reminds me of when my kids wnet to kindy and I'd feel terrible about leaving my babies, they'd run off with their friends and not give me a second thought! Ah well, such is life.

Great news Cyn. I'm glad it was a nice visit. I remember those days with my babies! When we first got the bus I always walked Ally both ways (Ebob was already in high school - I'd driven her the whole time) until the day she told me she didn't want me to go anymore. I was vewy sad..

Another cold start to our day, it is 36 (2C) headed for 70 (21C) and another heavy frost, Maybe after tonight, my house plants can get back to the fresh air and continue their vacation on the back porch, hopefully this is the last of the below 40 temps.

Nothing much else to report this morning from here in the slow lane. I shall get back and read about 5 pages and catch up again with the chatty sisters.

I'm back.....feeling virtuous now that I've made a bit of space for the delivery...I hunted out the computer desk that has been in the bungalow for 6months waiting to be brought into use.... unbelievable the number of cords and cables....more remarkable everything is reconnected and works. Now I just have to move the desk that the computer was on out to the bungalow.... Never ends... Then I need to ring St Vinnies or the Salvos to come pick up the old TV..

But first I need to go cook some rice for Lachie ...help him to sleep well tonight...1st exam tomorrow.BRB after I have done that....

SUSAN ( from page 279) Yes, I am very sun safe now also, with my BIG summer sun hats. Need to find winter sun hats, checked UV this week and although cold and sun has changed angle, it is still a 5.

Doc keeps saying damage done years ago, but these are not popping up in places I know I repeatedly burned! Very fair, and for the day and age, my family was far more sun safe than most! My father did not want to hear the complaints when we were sunburned, so he kept us from the sun mid day. ALL vacations in the sun required us in the shade and in a T shirt and hat mid day. Was no sun screen then.

We camped lakeside for vacations. Got up, cooked and ate breakfast and left dishes and camp clean upfor later,, OUT on the water in the boat when most were still asleep! Water ski early cause we had to come in early. We did the dishes, and cleaned camp and cooked a full meal for the noon meal, then played cards and horseshoes, read a book, went for a boat ride with the boat top UP and us covered, that kind of thing. STILL I am having BCC.

Yes I am totally p-off...but I have a life to lead so will just have to move on and take another tack.
