Hi Vici - things are settling down a bit now. For a while I didn't feel retired at all but now hubby is back at work, I have more space. Love him, but not under my feet.
Jewel has her days. Some days she is really great and others like yesterday - she chewed through my internet phone connection cord (Hubby's fault that she could get to it). I know it's just 'puppy stage', but I think I'll look into puppy training classes.

Then my brain kicked in, and worked. I looked on YouTube, and they have it.

AAGGGHHHH, WARNING: continuing saga of the intermittent internet.

Al spent one hour and 45 minuets by the clock with ATT tech trying again to solve our problem. OH, wish I had a camera that could have recorded the steam coming out of his ears! First, they wanted to upgrade him to the highest speed DSL line, at our expense. I heard him oh so very calmly and politely ask how would having it faster work when it would not work at the current speed.

You must know Al to know the control behind that calm, slow and polite persona. If he starts that around me, that is when I back away slowly hehehe. Then they wanted him to buy a new modem, no thank you, we got a new modem just a bit ago when we had lightning damage. "Lightening damage?" Tech was off on a new tangent. Again, calmly and slowly and oh so very polite, Al explained that EVERYTHING, connections and Cat 5 and routers and hubs and all had also been replaced after the lightning. To make a long story a bit shorter, boils down to they kept trying to find something to moke it OUR fault.

They did, after about hour and 30 min, try one new thing, changing something at their end, Changing ports where we were connected to the server or something. "try that tonight and see". Well it was not 30 minutes later, connection was blinking off and on again.

So we still have internet that blinks on and off, it will drive ya batty trying to IM with me, and sometimes I loose the site here when reading or posting. such is life. Al said he was going to send them a bill for his time, he has over 6 hours logged in to their tech already hehehe.

Someone had to tell her eaa, and I thought I did it quite subtlety.

Ok! It looks like everyone is putting on they running shoes.
